NGWSD Set for February 7

CU Athletics is celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on Saturday, February 7 and invites you to be a part of the celebration. The day was chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1986 to honor female athletic achievement and recognize the importance of sports and fitness participation for all girls and women. We'd like to invite you to the University of Colorado's celebration of NGWSD. Activities Scheduled:
12:00-1:00pm Skills & Fitness Challenge
1:00-1:30pm Autograph Session with CU Athletes
2:00pm CU Women's Basketball vs. Iowa State
Halftime Special Performance by Paul "Dizzy Hips" Blair World Record Hula Hooper
FREE ADMISSION & FREE T-SHIRTS
Prior to your CU Women's Basketball team taking on Iowa State at all kids (boys and girls) in 8th grade and under are invited to participate in a Skills & Fitness Challenge on the Coors Events Center concourse from 12-1 p.m. During the challenge kids will meet CU female student-athletes from basketball, cheerleading, golf, volleyball, track & field, tennis, and soccer. The first 750 kids (8th grade and under) who complete the challenge will earn a free commemorative tee shirt. Following the skills challenge on the concourse the CU student-athletes will sign autographs from 1-1:30 p.m. Then stick around and cheer on the CU Women's Basketball team at 2 p.m.
All activities are FREE for kids and adults including the women's basketball game. To receive free general admission you must enter the Coors Events Center through the northwest entrance between noon and 1 p.m. After 1 p.m. free readmission is not available.
