Tennis Hosts OSU on Sunday

BOULDER ? The University of Colorado tennis team will take on the Oklahoma State Cowgirls on Sunday, 11 a.m. at the South Campus Courts. In case of inclement weather, the match will be moved inside the Millennium Hotel Harvest House Bubble, also beginning at 11 a.m.
The No. 61 nationally ranked CU tennis team (5-5, 1-0 Big 12) successfully opened Big 12 play with a 4-3 win over Oklahoma on Friday, while the Cowgirls, also 1-0 in the conference, edged Missouri, 4-3 on Friday.
Admission and parking are free at either the South Campus Courts or the Millennium Hotel Harvest House Bubble.
The Buffaloes (5-5, 1-0 Big 12) will be looking for a 2-0 conference start for the third year in a row.
OSU (7-5, 1-0) leads the all-time series against the Buffs, 21-8, however since 2004, CU has won four of the last six meetings. The Buffs have won the last three matches at home.
Since Big 12 play began in 1997, the two schools have split the series at seven wins apiece.
At every home match throughout the spring season, the CU sports information office will feature a student-athlete Q&A. Sunday’s feature is freshman Madie Kern.
Kern is from Broomfield, Colo. and is an open option major in Colorado’s College of Arts and Sciences.
BIG 12 OPENER... Michala Hedelund Jensen clinched her first career match for the team winning in straight sets at the No. 6 slot helping CU to a 4-3 win over Oklahoma. Melisa Esposito, Abbie Probert and Franziska Jendrian also tallied singles wins against the Sooners.

SPRING TRIUMPHS... Abbie Probert and Franziska Jendrian each have six spring victories, while Michala Hedelund Jensen has five dual wins.
school record holder... Senior Franziska Jendrian is currently atop the school’s all-time doubles list. With 70 career victories. Jendrian has tallied 45 wins in the spring and 25 during fall play. She broke the school mark previously set by Jessica Garrow (1997-2000) with 69 career doubles victories.
OVERALL WINS... Franziska Jendrian tops the team with 20 singles victories for the year (80 career). Juniors Melisa Esposito (55 career) and Camila Belassi (48 career) have recorded 16 and 14 wins, respectively. Michala Hedelund Jensen has 10 triumphs for the year.
