Colorado Tennis head coach Nicole Kenneally will share her thoughts with Buffs fans on her team's progress throughout the 2009 spring season. This week she writes about CU's successful beginning to the Big 12 portion of their season.

Dear All,

Your Buffs really capped off a great weekend of tennis on Sunday vs. Oklahoma State.

The doubles point came down to the wire with us pulling through with a 9-7 victory at #3.  It was a great Boulder day and we had a lot of people out watching and playing which made it fun. The players really knew that we would have a battle on our hands in singles and did a great job of taking it to them from the get go and sometimes just not letting them in at all.

Camilla Belassi

Melisa Esposito pulled up with the first win and that was soon followed by Abbie Probert.  Ania Anuszkiewicz played another close 2nd set but just wasn’t quite able to eek it out it. Cami Belassi then closed out her match in fine fashion to seal the win for us.  Michala Hedelund Jensen soon followed although she was battling back in her match.  Franziski Jendrian was the last on and played a see-saw match with the OSU player. They had a lot of great points and it finished in a close 10-6 loss in the super tie break.  It was a close one.

The team had great energy and we look to continue next week with our matches vs. Kansas (March 20 at 2 pm) and Kansas State (March 22 at 11 am) on the road.

Our next home match is on Saturday, March 28 vs. Baylor. We will begin play at 11 am. Also, on this day we will be providing a FREE 1 hour clinic for all following the match so please bring out your racquets!

Go Buffs!
