Buff Volleys With Coach Kenneally

Colorado Tennis head coach Nicole Kenneally will share her thoughts with Buffs fans on her team's progress throughout the 2009 spring season. This week she writes about CU's first ever 5-0 start in Big 12 play.
Dear All,
The ladies performed a first (Sunday). We defeated a very good Texas Tech squad 6-1 and for the first time in program history the team started with a 5-0 mark in Big 12 play.
We knew we would have a tough match on our hands with Texas Tech as they have had a very solid year so far with a couple of Top 25 wins. The doubles started well and we were all even after the first 15-20 minutes and then we did a great job of pulling away. We swept the doubles point.
In singles Cami Belassi and Abbie Probert got off to solid starts, Melisa Esposito had a tough first set but rebounded really well and took control in the second and third sets. Abbie won first and then Melisa and after giving her opponent a lead in the second set Cami did a great job of closing it out in a tiebreak. Franziska Jendrian racked up another win at #4 and we ended up splitting 5 and 6 singles with Tech as we lost at 5 and won at 6.

This Thursday we head to Texas to play UT on Friday at 2 p.m. and then Texas A&M on Sunday at 1 p.m. It is going to be a good weekend so come on out and watch the Buffs play (if in Texas)!
