School is out, but class is about to begin as University of Colorado Athletics gets set to host a wide variety of sports camps over the next two months.

Camps are being offered for boys and girls basketball, football, golf, soccer, tennis and volleyball. Each sport has multiple camps to ensure youth of all ages and skill levels have their opportunity to learn from Colorado coaches, student-athletes and special guests. Adults can even get into the action with tennis clinics and father/son or father/child camps in basketball and football.

All CU summer camps are open to any and all campers, limited only by the number of participants the camp can hold, the age or grade level the camp is designed for and the gender of the campers the camp is designed for.

The Colorado Basketball School will hold its Elite Basketball Camp on June 27 for the best rising 2010 8-12th grade basketball players who want to take their game to the next level. For the player who wants to prove themselves, showcase their abilities and gain recognition through their talents, the Colorado Elite Basketball Camp is a must for their summer circuit. Individual Day Camps for boys ages 9-16 and Little Dribbler Camp for those ages 5-8 will be held the week of June 15-18.

Kathy McConnell-Miller's Colorado Basketball Camp for Girls begins with Advanced Skills Camp June 5-6, designed to help campers take their games to the next level.  The Individual Camp, scheduled for June 8-11, is for the beginner or experienced player and designed to develop and refine fundamental skills in a fun and entertaining atmosphere. Girls camps will wrap up on June 12 with a Shooting Camp designed to improve footwork, shooting technique and accuracy through instruction and repetition.

Dan Hawkins has seven Colorado Football Camps slated for this summer beginning with Youth Camp sessions on June 8-10 (morning) and June 10-12 (afternoon) for boys and girls entering 1st through 8th grades (after June 8, 2009). The high school camps begin on June 13 with the Passing Jamboree (for teams only) and the Big Man's OL/DL Camp. CU's High School Full Contact Camp for teams runs June 15-18 for day and overnight campers. The majority of the camp schedule is spent on the field in actual game situations. Additional practice time is dedicated for the teaching and drilling of fundamentals and techniques of each position ? the same things the Colorado Buffaloes are taught!

Colorado's men's and women's golf programs each hold unique summer camps for aspiring young golfers at the newly dedicated Colorado National Golf Club. Men's head coach Roy Edwards hosts the Colorado Golf Camp for boys and girls, ages 12-18, which is geared towards the tournament golfer who wishes to play college golf and improve their tournament performance. The first session runs June 5-7 and the second is July 31-August 1. Women's head coach Anne Kelly hosts the Colorado National Golf Camp which features four One Day camps (June 8, 15, 22, 29) and one Family Half Day Camp (June 22). The One Day camp, open to girls and boys, ages 8-17, or grades 3-12, features instruction, video swing analysis, range lesson, 9 hole playing lesson and more!

Colorado soccer coach Bill Hempen and his staff begin with their Day Camp, June 15-19. The Day Camp is for boys and girls ages 4-12 where players will learn basic ball handling skills, team play, and game rules thru fun activities and games. The Colorado Boys Soccer Camp, for ages 10-18, runs June 21-24, while the Colorado Girls Camp for that same age group is set for June 26-29. Soccer camps are designed for the player to receive the best possible individual training in a competitive environment while maintaining a team mentality.

CU tennis coach Nicole Kenneally has something for all ages and abilities in her 22nd Annual Camps & Clinics. Several sessions are available in the Adult Weekend and Weekday Clinics. Adults of all playing levels are encouraged to come participate in clinics that will cover the fundamental technique for each stroke as well as a selection of intense college-used drills for singles and/or doubles that players will be able to use continuously. Coach Kenneally will also hold Junior Clinics June 8-11 and June 15-18 for players ages 8-18 and three Tennis Tots sessions (June 1-4, June 8-11 & June 15-18) for players ages 3-7.

First-year head coach Liz Kritza and her staff debut their first Colorado Volleyball Camps in July, beginning with the Little Spikers Camp for boys and girls in grades 3-6. Little Spikers, which has sessions July 6-7 and July 8-9, gives campers an opportunity to learn basic volleyball skills and have a great time. One Day Skills Camps for girls, grades 7-12, begin with a Setting/Hitting session on July 14 and continues with a Serving/Passing/Defense camp on July 15. Each of these camps is designed for the beginning to advanced players to learn or improve a specific skill. CU Volleyball's All Skills Camp will be held July 10-12 for girls grades 7-12. All the basic skills will be covered including passing, setting, hitting, digging, blocking and serving. Volleyball camps wrap up with the High Performance Training Camp, July 16-19, for girls grades 10-12. The focus will be on training for the next level (college volleyball) with drills and competition designed to enhance the overall volleyball player.
