HIGH SCHOOL-He was the Cap 7 Player of the Year , earned firstGÇÉteam AllGÇÉCap 7 honors and was named the HighSchoolOT.com OT Player of the Year, a fourGÇÉconference award in the RaleighGÇÉDurhamGÇÉChapel Hill area. He also earned firstGÇÉteam AllGÇÉOT, helping his team to a 14GÇÉ1 record and appearance in the state semifinal appearance. Rolesville was 14GÇÉ 0 when Jones broke his fibula and the team lost the next week in the state semifinals. A fourGÇÉyear starter, he led Rolesville to a 47GÇÉ 9 record and four Cap 7 championships. The team advanced further in the playoffs each of his four years, losing the first round as a freshman, second round as a sophomore and in the regional finals both his junior and senior seasons. In his career, he rushed 604 times for 4,307 yards and 52 touchdowns. As a senior, he earned four Player of the Week awards from HighSchoolOT.com. In 13 games, he rushed 241 times for 1,652 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging 127.1 yards per game and 6.9 yards per carry. He had eight 100GÇÉyard games and a pair of 200GÇÉyard performances, including 23 carries for 244 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 48GÇÉ14 win over Sanderson. He also had 18 carries for 234 yards, a touchdown and a twoGÇÉpoint conversion in a 42GÇÉ8 playoff win over Garner. Against Wakefield in a 47GÇÉ0 victory, he had 21 rushes for 164 yards and three touchdowns. He rushed 18 times for 87 yards and scored the game's lone touchdown in the fourth quarter in a 10GÇÉ6 win. In three playoff games, he rushed 46 times for 435 yards and three touchdowns. As a junior, he led the team to a 12GÇÉ3 mark and was the Cap 7 offensive player of the year, firstGÇÉteam AllGÇÉCap 7 and the most valuable player and firstGÇÉteam selection on the Raleigh News & Observer AllGÇÉArea team. He rushed 206 times for 1,744 yards and 20 touchdowns and had seven receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown. Against rival Leesville Road, he ran 25 times for 181 yards and four touchdowns. He had nine 100GÇÉyard games and scored touchdowns in 12 games and had multiple touchdowns five times. Against Enloe, he had 171 yards on just seven carries (24.4 yards per carry) and three touchdowns. As a sophomore helping the squad to a 12GÇÉ1 record, he had 102 rushes for 586 yards and nine touchdowns. He had 12 rushes for 198 yards and three touchdowns, including an 81 yard scamper. The team was 9GÇÉ4 his freshman season when he ran 55 times for 325 yards and six touchdowns. He also ran track & field his sophomore season and he also plans to as a senior, competing in the 100GÇÉ and 200GÇÉmeter dashes. His top time in the 100GÇÉmeter is 10.8 seconds.
ACADEMICS-He is planning to major in business management at Colorado.
PERSONAL-He was born October 24, 1991 in Raleigh, N.C. His hobbies include working out and training for both football and track. Colorado became aware of him when his high school running backs coach, Josh Gallagher, worked a summer camp last year at CU and submitted film to the CU staff. (First name is pronounced trey).
