Annie Brunner Biography

ANNIE BRUNNER
5-9, GK
Arvada, Colo. (Arvada West/Storm Academy)
HEMPEN ON BRUNNER: "Annie will be vying for a spot as our next goalkeeper.  She has been dealing with an injury but we expect her to be ready to go full tilt come summer and fall.  The good news for us is that she is already enrolled and will be under the expert care of Yolanda Hinton, our trainer, and the rest of our excellent medical staff here at CU. Annie brings a dominating presence and we are hoping she has the same impact as her predecessors, Jessie Keller, Kirstin Radlinski and Kara Linder."

HIGH SCHOOL-She arrived early at CU after graduating from Arvada West High School in December of 2009 and enrolled into CU for the spring 2010 semester. She was not a member of her high school's soccer team because she was busy focusing on playing club ball for the Storm Soccer Club under coach Scott Dedycker and led the Colorado Storm Soccer Club to the State Championship in 2007, '08 and '09. She also has significant experience at the Olympic Development level and was a member of the ODP State team for four years (2004-07). She was recognized as an academic lettermen for four years and received the Masonic Award her junior year.

ACADEMICS-Brunner is majoring in business at Colorado and hopes to work in sports after graduation. She was recognized as an academic letter winner for four years and received the Masonic award her junior year in high school.

PERSONAL-She was born January 30, 1992, to William and Maggie Brunner.  She has two older brothers, Matt, 21, and Will, 19.  She chose CU because she's always wanted to play in the Big 12 and fell in love with Boulder and the campus.  She is a counselor at the Rock Christian Camp and enjoys most outdoor activities, especially fishing, hiking, biking, rock climbing, snowboarding and tennis.
