HEMPEN ON DOHM: "All I know is that every time I saw Alex play at various tournaments, every coach in attendance wanted to know if she had committed anywhere and happily for me she had committed to the Buffs so the answer was yes she had.  She has fantastic speed that will be plugged in at many places on the field, she could be a defender, and specifically one that will be on the attack as often as she will be in the defense.  She wants to be an engineer and I wanted to give a thank you to our faculty rep., Dr. David Clough, for showing Alex and her mom around the engineering department on her visit to CU.  Dr. Clough's influence had a great deal to do with Alex's choice to be a Buff."

HIGH SCHOOL-She was a four-year letter winner at Liberty High School in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she holds the record for most points scored by a sophomore with 21. As a senior, she was the first female from Liberty to make the high school scholar All-American team and All-Region team. She was named first team All-Area by ESPN Rise Magazine.  Her junior year, she joined the Liberty Wall of Fame for soccer and was named the team's most valuable player on both offense and defense. She earned first-team All-5A Colorado Springs League honors and first-team All-Conference honors, as well.  As a sophomore, she won the power goals and power assists awards for Liberty and was named second-team All-State and first-team All-4A Colorado Springs All-League.  As a freshman, she was named Liberty's defensive most valuable player and earned honorable mention All-State by the Rocky Mountain News, honorable mention All-Area by the Colorado Springs Gazette and second-team All-4A Colorado Springs League. She also was a member of the Pride Predators under coach Sian Hudson, where Pride earned a No. 8 national ranking and made it to the regional final four in 2007. Pride earned State Cup championships in 2006 and '07. In 2008, Pride won the Score and the Shore Championship and also won its League championship while also winning the Disney Showcase in 2009. She also has Olympic Development experience as she was on the ODP state team in 2008 and '09. She was also a member of the Region IV team in 2009.   

ACADEMICS-She plans on majoring in engineering at Colorado. She was a member of the national honors society and national French honors society in high school.

PERSONAL-Her full name is Alexandra Elizabeth Dohm.  She was born in Johnson City, N.Y., to Karl Dohm and Cynthia Pesek.  She has one younger sister, Kristina, 16.  She is a member of the national art society.  She enjoys reading, skiing and excels at juggling the soccer ball, of which her personal juggling best is 1,800.
