AT ARIZONA (2008-09/Fr., Soph.)-She appeared in 34 games in two seasons for the Arizona Wildcats, starting nine at defender. She was an integral part of the back line and registered one point off of one assist. She made her career debut in a 4-0 win over Utah on Aug. 29 and made the first start of her career as a freshman in a 4-0 victory over Weber State on Sept. 5. Her first career assist came against Cal State Northridge on Sept. 21. She appeared in seven Pac-10 games and started six of them.
HIGH SCHOOL-She was a two-year letter winner in high school, in 2005 at Fossil Ridge High School and 2007 at J.K. Mullen High School, where she helped the team to a state championship. She earned second team All-Conference as a senior. As a sophomore at Fossil Ridge, she was a team captain and first-team All-Conference. While playing club soccer for Colorado Rush Nike under coach Erik Bushey, she helped the team to two National Championships (2008, '09), a Region IV Championships (2008) and the State Cup Championship three times (2005, '07, '08). Colorado Rush Nike won the Disney Showcase Championship in 2008 and were finalists in '05, and also won the Las Vegas College Showcase "Stratosphere Division" in 2007.
ACADEMICS-She is majoring in speech, language and hearing sciences at Colorado and is also interested in sports medicine. She was a member of her high school's honor roll four years from 2005-08 and was a Rotary Club winner in 2005.
PERSONAL-Her full name is Amy Theresa Steiner. She was born November 11, 1989, to Richard and Ellen Steiner of Littleton, Colo. She has two older sisters, Liz, 25, and Laura, 23, who both graduated from CU.
