BOULDER ?The University of Colorado at Boulder Alumni Association, in addition to the Senior Class Council and STAND are hosting the Forever Buffs 5k on Sunday, April 11.

The 5K is designed to raise money for Senior Class Council and STAND, two student groups working together to achieve their respective goals while also putting on an event that will bring together students, staff, alumni, and members of the community. The Forever Buffs 5k helps Senior Class Council promote and raise funds for the 2010 class gift. STAND is using this event to raise money to donate to humanitarian aid efforts in Darfur. Registration is $20.

Check-in will begin at 7 a.m. and all participants will be asked to sign a waiver at check-in. The 5K will start at the entrance to the Duane Physics building at 8 a.m., across the street from the buffalo statue by Folsom Field and will end on Duane Lawn. The route goes through campus and Broadway, connecting the campus with the rest of the Boulder community. This year the race is designed to be the capstone event of a CU spirit-filled weekend, which includes the Spring Football Game, Admitted Students Day and the Legacy Ball. The event is designed both to evoke pride and a feeling of community among CU-Boulder students and to highlight each student’s ability to make a difference in the community and in the world at large.

About Forever Buffs

In November 2008, the CU-Boulder Alumni Association dissolved its annual dues program and welcomed all alumni and students to a lifetime of programs and services as Forever Buffs. Being a Forever Buff begins the moment freshmen step foot on campus, develops during their academic years, grows after graduation and continues through retirement. The association aims to bring students and alumni together in unprecedented ways to share Buff successes.
