McCall, Serebrakian Earn Big 12 Postgraduate Scholarships

BOULDER - University of Colorado student-athletes Chynna McCall and Arman Serebrakian have been selected as recipients of the 2009-10 Dr. Prentice Gautt Postgraduate Scholarships, the Big 12 Conference office announced on Tuesday.

McCall, a native of Aurora, Colo., is a four-year member of the Buffaloes' track & field team, competing in the throwing events. Serebrakian, of Novato, Calif., wrapped up his four-year career with the CU ski team this past season, competing in alpine events.

Awarded annually to a male and female student-athlete from each Big 12 institution, the scholarships are named in honor of the late Dr. Prentice Gautt, a former Big 12 Conference staff member and student services pioneer who passed away in March 2005.

Scholarship recipients sport cumulative grade point averages of at least 3.5 and have participated in at least two years of intercollegiate athletics at the nominee's respective institution. To date the Big 12 has provided 249 postgraduate awards totaling $1,655,600.
