BOULDER - The University of Colorado women's tennis team officially begins the 2011 spring season this Friday, January 21 at the United States Air Force Academy.  The match with the Falcons begins at 4 p.m.

Head coach Nicole Kenneally enters her 12th year with the Buffaloes and ranks second on the school all-time victories list with 126.

Colorado is currently No. 71 nationally among the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.

Kenneally returns one senior (Abbie Probert) and one sophomore (Erin Sanders), in addition to two juniors (Ania Anuszkiewicz, Michala Hedelund Jensen) and four freshmen (Kristina Barber, Winde Janssens, Carla Manzi Tenorio, Kristina Schleich).

Probert enters her final season with 56 doubles and 38 singles victories; Hedelund Jensen has 41 singles and 35 doubles wins to her credit; and Anuszkiewicz has 28 doubles tallies.

Probert ranks ninth on the school's all-time doubles list, while Hedelund Jensen is tied for 30th.

The CU women will return to the court on Sunday with their home opener against No. 38 Boise State. The match with the Broncos is the first of 11 home matches for the Buffs.

Sunday's match begins at The Meadows Club in Boulder with doubles play at 9 a.m.
