Hogan Named Coastal Carolina Head Coach
BOULDERGÇöUniversity of Colorado associate head womenGÇÖs soccer coach Paul Hogan is leaving the Buffaloes program to become the head womenGÇÖs soccer coach at Coastal Carolina University, the Conway, S.C., based school announced on Thursday.

Hogan and Hempen have had an extensive history of working side-by-side as they both came to CU in 2001. Even before they arrived at Colorado, the two worked together at Duke University during the 1996 and GÇÖ97 seasons. Hogan assisted the Blue Devils to a two-year record of 28-11 before he took a head coaching job at Allegheny College. Hogan spent three seasons at Allegheny College where he guided the Gators to a 35-16-7 (.686) overall record and 17-6-2 (.739) North Coast Athletic Conference mark before joining forces with Hempen for a second time around, this time in Boulder, where they have coached together for the past 10 seasons.

Before HoganGÇÖs arrival in Boulder prior to the 2001 season, he found a team that, though close, had yet to put together a winning Big 12 Conference season, but it took just two seasons to orchestrate the biggest single-season turn around in CU and Big 12 history, and one of the best in the nation when the 2002 squad went 10-8-2 with a fifth place finish in the league after finishing 3-11-1 the previous season. It would take just one more year to turn naysayers into believers as the Buffs went from placing 10th in 2001 to winning the programGÇÖs only conference title to date with a 15-4-1 record, nine shutouts, and an 11-match unbeaten streak.
During his 10 years at Colorado, he has assisted the team to an overall record of 110-75-26 making six NCAA appearances, as well as a Big 12 record of 51-38-11 with seven top five league finishes.
