BOULDER - University of Colorado junior guard Chucky Jeffery has been named the Bank of the West Pac-12 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4, Commissioner Larry Scott announced on Monday.

Jeffery's award is Colorado's first for women's basketball and the fourth overall for the Buffaloes in their inaugural Pac-12 season, joining three football winners from earlier this fall. The league Player of the Week honor is also the first for women's basketball since Brittany Spears was named Big 12 Conference Player of the Week on Nov. 23, 2009. For Jeffery, it's her second similar honor, as she was the Big 12 Freshman of the Week winner on Jan. 11, 2010.

A native of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jeffery led the Buffaloes to wins over San Francisco (84-66) and Idaho (68-59), posting big numbers in both games. She recorded career-highs in points in consecutive games, first scoring 26 points against USF, then bettering that mark with 30 against the Vandals. Against the Dons, she made all of her 3-point (2-2) and free throw attempts (4-4) while shooting 10-of-14 from the floor to go along with 12 rebounds. Grabbing 10 boards against Idaho, she also had a good shooting night, going 10-for-17 from the floor, 6-for-7 from behind the three-point arc and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe. Her 30-10 double-double was the first of its kind for a CU player since Jackie McFarland had 32 points and 12 rebounds against Villanova in the 2008 Postseason WNIT.

Shooting 64.5 percent from the floor and 85.7 percent from long-range for the week, she knocked down her first six three-point attempts in a row before missing on her final attempt. With a combined five steals, she also moved into sole possession of 14th on CU's all-time list with 146. Jeffery now has double-doubles in three straight games, a first for CU since McFarland had two separate streaks of three during the 2006-07 campaign.

The last undefeated team in the Pac-12 and 7-0 for the first time since 1993-94, Colorado hosts Denver on Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Coors Events Center. The game will be televised regionally on ROOT Sports. Tickets are also available starting at $8 and can be purchased at CUBuffs.com/tickets or by calling 303-49-BUFFS.
