Volleyball Celebrates With Season-Ending Banquet
BOULDER--- The University of Colorado volleyball program recently held its annual team banquet on January 13, honoring two seniors, Rosie Steinhaus and Kristin Martell, as well as recognizing thirteen first-time varsity letterwinners.
Coach Liz Kritza gave a state of the program presentation that included the program's key victories and progress in the Big 12 Conference this past season and outlined next season's changeover to the Pac-12 Conference. The banquet continued with both graduating seniors presenting a speech about their CU volleyball experience. The evening culminated with the presentation of the 2010 highlight video.
Steinhaus had an exemplary playing career as a Buff. The Flagstaff, Ariz. native is majoring in mechanical engineering and owns an impressive 3.620 grade point average. Steinhaus has been a member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll since arriving on campus and has been named to the Dean's List four times. She is on track to graduate in May.
Martell graduates from the program in May. She played on the team as a student-athlete and served as the team's student assistant when her playing career was shortened by injury.

Schroeder were also mentioned at the banquet for their performances
during the 2010 season. Valentine had been named the Big 12
Volleyball Rookie of the Week (Sept. 27), and Schroeder was named
the Big 12 Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 18).
Schroeder and Anicia Santos were recognized for their selections to
the Crowne Plaza Fullerton Titan All-Tournament Team, while
Schroeder also recognized as a three-time CU Athlete of the Week in
2010.
The Buffs were recognized for success off the court as well.
Steinhaus earned her second Academic All-Big 12 First Team
selection and Schroeder was named to the second team for the first
time.
Julie Manning, CUAssociate Athletic Director for Compliance and Administration served as Master of Ceremonies. Other notable CU dignitaries attending the banquet included regents Monisha Merchant and Sue Sharkey and vice chancellor Julie Wong.
