Tennis Hosts Utah Friday

The Buffaloes (1-1) will look to rebound from their 6-1 loss against No. 38 Boise State. The Utes are winless on the season (0-3), however are No. 41 nationally. CU defeated Air Force to open the season.
Friday's match is the start of four consecutive matches at home.
Utah leads CU, 11-10 in the all-time series, however the Buffs have won the last three in a row (2010, 2001, 2000). The series dates back to 1976. Last season, CU defeated the Utes, 4-3 in a match played at the ITA Kickoff weekend in Berkeley. CU swept the doubles point, then secured the top three singles positions by their graduating seniors.
RECORD BOOK: Senior Abbie Probert and junior Michala Hedelund Jensen are the two CU student-athletes making a climb on the school record book. In doubles, Probert is tied for eighth in all-time victories (57) and Hedelund Jensen is 31st (36). In singles, the pair is reversed with Hedelund Jensen ranking No. 34 with 43 wins, while Probert is No. 38 with 38 victories. On all-time combined singles and doubles triumphs list, Probert ranks No. 24 with 95 wins.
2011 Season: Michala Hedelund Jensen is off to a good start in the spring season winning both of her matches at the No. 3 position (2-0). Sophomore Erin Sanders and freshman Kristina Schleich are each 1-1 at the No. 1 and No. 4 slots, respectively. All three doubles tandems are 1-1 (Hedelund Jensen/Probert; Sanders/Ania Anuszkiewicz; Schleich/Manzi Tenorio).
Utes Prep for Three Matches: The 41st-ranked Utah women's tennis team (0-3) hosts Washington State (5-0) Thursday, Feb. 3, before hitting the road to face 71st-ranked Colorado (1-1) Friday, followed by Denver (2-1) Sunday.
Scouting the Cougars, the Buffaloes and the Pioneers: Washington State is 5-0 after capturing wins over Lewis & Clark State (7-0), Seattle University (7-0), Eastern Washington (7-0), Idaho (6-1), and Gonzaga (7-0). 71st-ranked Colorado topped Air Force 4-3, before falling, 6-1, to 38th-ranked Boise State. Denver is coming off two wins over Colorado State, 7-0, and Air Force, 5-2, after dropping its season opener to 38th-ranked Boise State, 5-2.
Last time out: Utah returns to Salt Lake City after a two-match road trip to South Bend, Ind. for ITA's Kick-Off Weekend. The Utes fell to 23rd-ranked Arkansas 4-2 Saturday, before dropping a 5-2 decision to 47th-ranked Yale Sunday.
