Women?s T&F Team Ranked 21st in Preseason Poll

NEW ORLEANS - The University of Colorado women's track and field team is ranked 21st in the USTFCCCA Preseason Poll, which was released on Wednesday.
The Buffs have a team total of 98.01 points in the computer generated poll. CU returns two All-Americans to the 2010 outdoor season. Junior Emma Coburn was the NCAA runner-up in the steeplechase, while sophomore Shalaya Kipp was fifth at the championship. Senior Laura Thweatt ended last season ranked 23rd in the 5,000-meter run and 29th in the 10.
Colorado has also gained the services of graduate student Jessica Pixler, a 12-time All-American at Seattle Pacific. Pixler owns the top 2010 time in the 1,500 and the second-best mark in the 5k.
Texas A&M is the top ranked team in the women's poll and Florida leads the way in the men's poll.
The Buffs compete this Friday night, March 25, at the Stanford Invitational and on Saturday, March 26, at the CSU Pueblo Open.
