BOULDER - CenturyLink, ROOT SPORTS and the University of Colorado have named Manhattan Middle School (Boulder, Colo.) eighth grader Pasquelle Aggett-Carosella the ninth Winning Attitude award recipient of 2011-12.  Winners are selected from a pool of written essays submitted by Colorado middle school students explaining how their winning attitude has made a difference in their communities.

Aggett-Carosella demonstrated her winning attitude by starting a free soccer camp for young children in her neighborhood.   Aggett-Carosella an avid soccer player with U14 Boulder Athletics, shared her skills and passion for the sport by organizing and executing a summer-long camp.   Aggett-Carosella states, "My definition of a winning attitude is learning to play my best on the field and then sharing my talents off the field.  I realized how easy and rewarding it is to share my soccer skills and help everyone who wants to play to succeed."

Manhattan Middle School Principal Fernandez adds, "Pasquelle embodies the Manhattan Middle School values of RISE (Respect, Individual Responsibility, Safety and Excellence) in her approach to her studies and her interactions with others.  Her presence enriches the Manhattan Middle School community and we are proud to have her represent our school through her Winning Attitude essay."
