COACH ELLIOTT ON DEWINTER: "Maddie is a tall and
athletic player. She made a strong impression on us this summer at
camp as she proved her versatility on the field. Maddie is
extremely independent and driven both athletically and
academically. We are excited Maddie decided to stay in her home
state and continue her lacrosse career here at CU."
HIGH SCHOOL: DeWinter helped Chaparral to its
first league championship, recording back-to-back titles in 2010
and 2011. DeWinter capped her prep career with U.S. Lacrosse
first-team All-American and Academic All-American honors. She was
named first-team All-League three consecutive years and received
academic All-State honors in back-to-back lacrosse seasons. In her
final season, she was also named first-team All-State. Her freshman
season, she was named her team's Rookie of the Year. After her
sophomore season, she joined the Team 180 club program. She also
became a member of Team Colorado in the Women's Division National
Tournament and participated in the Gore Range Classic, the Northern
Rise and the President's Cup. She also played basketball and
competed in cross country at Chaparral, earning first-team Academic
All-State honors as a junior.

route at CU and major in chemical and biological engineering.
