COACH ELLIOTT ON KNAPP: "Emily is a solid athlete
with more of an offensive focus and presence. Emily has a great
stick and strong game sense. She is a true lax-head and loves the
game! Emily is a great addition to our team, and her passion and
positive attitude will allow her to excel in our program."
HIGH SCHOOL: In four seasons at Rumson-Fair Haven
Regional, Knapp scored 84 goals and contributed 41 assists for a
total of 125 points. She had a strong senior season, scoring 25
goals and adding 15 assists. Knapp helped lead the Bulldogs
to three New Jersey Shore Conference Championship titles in 2010,
2011 and 2013. Knapp and the Bulldogs also took home a Division
Championship in 2013 and made their third South New Jersey Group II
State Championship appearance, taking home the runner-up prize,
after winning the title in 2010 and 2011. Knapp spent five years
with the T3 Elite Lacrosse Club, helping the team to the 2102 Best
of the Beach Championship and a runner-up finish in the Lax
Inception Tournament. Knapp also competed in cross country, helping
the team to consecutive state and conference championships.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Knapp is undecided on her major
at CU.
PERSONAL: Emily Marie Knapp was born on June 29,
1995 to Peter and Kelly Knapp. Her parents both attended Slippery
Rock University, where her mother played lacrosse and basketball
and her father was a member of the swimming and water polo teams.
Her uncle, Ken Murray, attended Princeton before joining the
Baltimore Orioles. Knapp is a New York Giants fan who enjoys
running, hiking, yoga and water sports. She likes art, Taylor Swift
and the Zac Brown Band. She is a member of the National Society of
High School Scholars. After college, she hopes to become a
collegiate lacrosse coach. She chose CU in hopes of creating a
legacy with the new team.
