COACH ELLIOTT ON SALVADORE: "Amanda is a workhorse
and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty by doing the little things
on the field. Amanda is a threat on offense, defense and in the
midfield. She is very coachable and passionate. We are excited to
welcome her, her sister and their entire family into our
program."
HIGH SCHOOL: In four seasons with the Monroe
Township lacrosse team, Salvadore scored 122 goals and contributed
68 assists. She was named the team's most improved player her
freshman year. She continued improving, becoming a three-time
first-team All-GMC selection. She was named her team's offensive
MVP as a junior. Her senior year, she was honored as an All-Area
selection and Monroe Scholar Athlete. She was a member of the
Tri-State Lacrosse - Black team her first three years of high
school. In 2012, the team posted an 11-3-2 record, and Salvadore
was named the team's MVP at the Downington, Penn. Tournament. She
was also a three-year varsity starter for both the Monroe Township
field hockey and track teams. As a senior, she was the field hockey
team captain and earned second-team All-Northern New Jersey honors.
She also earned back-to-back first-team All-GMC honors in field
hockey. She was a sprinter, hurdler and shot putter for the track
team, running the 55-yard dash in 8.3 seconds.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Salvadore plans on majoring in
integrative physiology. She is also interested in business.
PERSONAL: Amanda Rose Salvadore was born January
30, 1995 to Richard and Anna Salvadore. Her twin Melissa is also a
member of the Buffaloes. She enjoys dancing and doing ceramics and
nail art. She's a fan of Taylor Swift and the New York Giants. Her
favorite athlete is Gabby Douglas. She was the vice president of
her junior class, the girl representative for her town's rec
advisory board and a member of the National Honor Society. She
chose CU for the atmosphere and the experience of being somewhere
totally different from her hometown. After graduation, she hopes to
become an athletic trainer.
