BOULDER--For a lifetime of dedication and support of CU athletes, this weekGÇÖs Sports Authority Hometown Heroes are Peggy Coppom and Betty Hoover.  To anybody who regularly attends CU games, they are known better and more simply as GÇ£the twins.GÇ¥

At 87 years old, Peggy and Betty have rarely missed a CU football, menGÇÖs basketball, or womenGÇÖs basketball game. They have also made an effort to cheer on the womenGÇÖs volleyball team, womenGÇÖs soccer, and the other sporting events at CU. Their continuous support and enthusiasm has placed a lasting impression on all who have had the opportunity to meet them. The positivity they bring to the student-athletes has greatly impacted the community. Peggy and Betty make certain that whether the Buffs win or lose, open arms of support are waiting for them. 

In reality, Peggy and Betty have been relentless supporters for every CU athletic team for over 40 years. Ever since they became cheerleaders at Boulder High School in the late 1930GÇÖs, the twins have been an asset to the Boulder community. They genuinely care about the well-being of young people that come to CU to participate in sports. They have even befriended the families of athletes in order to make them feel more at home when in town. Peggy and BettyGÇÖs passion for CU athletics has truly made a lasting impact on anyone who has had the opportunity to meet them. Their uplifting encouragement towards CU athletics is noteworthy.
