DENVER-University of Colorado men's basketball had three in-state signees who sent in their letters of intent last November recognized by the Denver Post as all-state performers for the 2012 season.

Josh Scott, from Lewis-Palmer in Monument, was named Mr. Colorado Basketball after leading the Rangers to a 27-1 record and the 4A state title. Scott, who led the state in scoring with 28.5 points per game, was also named to the All-Colorado team and the All-4A first team. Behind Scott, Lewis-Palmer won their first state title since 1994 when future NBA forward Pat Garrity led the Rangers.

Wesley Gordon of Sierra High School in Colorado Springs was also named to the All-Colorado team and the All-4A first team. Xavier Talton from Sterling High School was selected to the All-4A first team as well.

All three participated in The Show all-star game at the Pepsi Center following the Denver Nuggets game on April 6. Scott led the Blue team to victory with a game-high 27 points while future teammates Gordon and Talton combined to score 18 points for the White.

Joining the trio of Centennial State standouts in CU's 2012 class of signees are Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, Calif.) teammates Xavier Johnson and Eli Stalzer, and Chris Jenkins (Detroit, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit HS). Johnson and Stalzer helped carry the Monarchs to the California State Division I championship with a 34-2 record and a No. 2 national ranking.

The 2011-12 ESPN High School All-American teams were also announced with Johnson and Scott being named to the honorable mention team. All selections were based on high school accomplishment and are reflective of players who led their teams to state championships.
