CU Lacrosse Home Opener Set For Noon Start Time

BOULDER GÇô The inaugural University of Colorado lacrosse home
game will begin at noon on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Folsom Field.
Be sure to get there early as CU takes on Regis University! The
first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free commemorative
lacrosse ball, and Ralphie will run before the game.
CU begins the 2014 season with a trip to Florida. Colorado will
face Stetson at 5 p.m. MT on Thursday, Feb. 13 and Jacksonville at
10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15. The Buffs then return to the
Centennial state for their first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation
game. CU travels to Denver on Wednesday, Feb. 19 to take on the
Pioneers at 3 p.m.
The Buffs host eight home games this season. In non-conference
play, the Buffs will take on Regis, Temple, Brown, and Old
Dominion. In home MPSF play, CU will face St. MaryGÇÖs College, USC
(also televised on the Pac-12 Networks), San Diego State and
California (at Prentup Field).
CU added womenGÇÖs lacrosse as its 17th sport in February 2012. In
February 2014, the team is ready to take the field for its
inaugural season. Three Northwestern alumni lead the Buffs. In
their time as student-athletes, CU head coach Ann Elliott and
assistant Colleen Magarity each won three NCAA Championships, while
assistant Hannah Nielsen won four. As a member of the Australian
National Team, Nielsen has also won one of each medal in the FIL
WomenGÇÖs Lacrosse World Cup.
There are 23 players on ColoradoGÇÖs inaugural roster, boasting 21
freshmen and two sophomores (one with Division I experience and the
other, college club level experience).
