GÇó Colorado opened its 18th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and this marks the second consecutive appearance.
GÇó The Buffs have now played seven NCAA Tournament matches at Moby Arena, tied for the most of any one venue for the Buffs alongside the Buffs home, the Coors Events Center.
GÇó With the win, the BuffsGǪ
o Improve to 3-1 all-time against Northern Colorado, including 2-0 on a neutral court.
o Improve to 20-13 on the season and secure the programGÇÖs first 20-win season in over a decade. The Buffs now have won 20-plus matches 11 times, this being the first time since the 2003 season.
o Improve to 11-17 in NCAA Tournament action and are 2-1 in the past two NCAA Tournaments.
o Improve to 8-8 in first-round action in the NCAA Tournament, including 2-0 under Liz Kritza.
o Improve to 3-4 in NCAA Tournament matches at Moby Arena. The Buffs also defeated Georgia Tech, 3-1, on Dec. 1, 2000 and American, 3-0, on Nov. 30, 2001.
o Improve to 7-15 all-time at Moby Arena.
o Improve to 3-1 at Moby Arena in neutral court matches (not playing CSU).
o Improve to 2-1 in the NCAA Tournament under Liz Kritza.

TAYLOR SIMPSON
GÇó The senior finished the match with 21 kills and just 4 attack errors on 48 attacks for a hitting percentage of .354.
GÇó She had a double-double with 10 digs.
GÇó She hit the 20-kill mark for the ninth time this year, matching the CU record, and sheGÇÖs reached double figures in kills for the 31st time in 32 matches played this year.
GÇó She extended her season kill record to 559.
GÇó She now has 949 kills in her career at CU spanning the last two seasons.
GÇó She now has 1,333 attaches this season, becoming the fourth player to reach that mark in a season and she is fourth on the season chart.

ALEXIS AUSTIN
GÇó The junior finished with 16 kills on just 27 attacks, hitting .333 with 7 attack errors.
GÇó She reached double figures in kills for the 17th time in 26 matches this season, including eight of the last nine matches.
GÇó She now has 933 career kills and moved past Kristin Engelking into 17th place on the CU career chart.

NICOLE EDELMAN
GÇó The junior finished with 25 assists and 11 digs.
GÇó It marks her eighth match in double figures for digs and the 17th time this season sheGÇÖs had 25 or more assists.
GÇó She surpassed the 3,000 assist mark, entering the match with 2,991 and now had 3,016. She became the seventh player in CU history to hit that mark and moved past Kaitlyn Burkett (3,001; 2006-09) into sixth place all-time.

GABBY SIMPSON
GÇó The freshman had 19 assists and 14 digs. She reached double figures in assists for the 26th time this season and in digs for the fifth.
GÇó Her 14 digs is the second highest total of her season/career. She had 15 against Washington State on Nov. 16.
GÇó She has had double figures in assists in nine of the last 10 matches and 16 of the last 18.
GÇó She now has 610 assists in her career, becoming the 13th player to record 600 or more career assists.

CIERRA SIMPSON
GÇó The sophomore had 12 digs in action at the libero spot, her 26th match in double figures this season in 33 matches played.
GÇó She has gone for double figure digs in eight straight and 15 of the last 16 matches.
GÇó She now has 502 digs this season, becoming the first player in CU history to record 500 digs in a season. She was tied with season holder Tina Murray (1990) with 490 entering the match.
GÇó She now has 874 digs in her career and moved past Amber Sutherland into 16th place on the CU career chart.

GWEN HERRING
GÇó The sophomore had 12 digs and led the Buffs with a pair of service aces. The two aces matches her career best, done two other times.
GÇó Her 12 digs is the third time this season she had double figures.

ANNA PFEFFERLE
GÇó The freshman had 10 blocks in the match, three solo and seven assisted.
GÇó The three solo blocks set a new season/career high.
GÇó The 10 blocks is one off her season/career high of 11 set in the Buffs win over No. 2 Washington on Nov. 13.
GÇó Her 10 blocks is the third time this season sheGÇÖs reached double figures.
GÇó She now has 135 blocks this season and has set a new CU freshman record for blocks, surpassing Meghan Barkman, who had 134 as a freshman in 1999. BarkmanGÇÖs is CUGÇÖs career blocking leader with 564 career blocks.
GÇó She also moved from 15th into a tie for ninth for most blocks in a season for the Buffs. She is tied with Wendy Van Wyhe, who had her 135 blocks in 1990.
