Tennis Hosts A Pair Of Matches This Weekend

BOULDER GÇô The University of Colorado womenGÇÖs tennis team
continues its three-match home stand this weekend taking on
in-state rival Denver this Friday and Wichita State on Sunday. Both
matches will be played at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center.
Admission and parking are free at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center,
which is located behind the Millennium Hotel on 28th
Street.
FridayGÇÖs match with the Pioneers begins at 4 p.m. and SundayGÇÖs
match against the Shockers begins at 10 a.m.
CU is coming off a 5-2 home win over Wyoming last week as Julyette
Steur, Winde Janssens, Nuria Orme+¦o Ruiz, and Dhany Quevedo
all won in straight sets, while Alex Aiello rallied from a set down
to win in three. Aiello leads the team in singles wins with a 17-3
record, followed by Orme+¦o Ruiz with a 14-6 mark, and Steur with an
11-5 record.
The Buffaloes are 4-1 at home this season, while DU (2-4) brings a
No. 57 national ranking into the contest.
Colorado leads Denver in the all-time series, 28-9, however the
Pioneers have won the last three in a row. The schools have played
against one another every year since 2001 with DU holding a 7-6
edge. CU is 4-3 in matches played in Boulder.
On Sunday, CU will host Wichita State (6-2), who is the No. 54
ranked team in the nation. The Buffs lead the all-time series, 4-0
and have not played against the Shockers since 1997. WSU will be
playing three Colorado schools in three days with matches against
Northern Colorado (Friday), Denver (Saturday) and CU (Sunday).
