Marie Moore Named MPSF Rookie Of The Week

WOODLAND, Calif. GÇô After helping the University of Colorado
lacrosse team to its third consecutive win on Saturday, midfielder
Marie
Moore was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Rookie
of the Week on Monday.
The co-captain from Brick, N.J. has been a great leader for the
young Buffs, holding one of the teamGÇÖs most impressive stat lines.
Moore has a team-high 23 draw controls and five caused turnovers
and ranks second on the team with 14 goals off 26 shots.
Against Temple, Moore scored three goals (two off of free position
shots) and contributed two assists. She was an important part of
CUGÇÖs 4-0 run to start the second half, scoring 59 seconds into the
half and contributing back-to-back assists to give CU a 9-2 lead
and an eventual 15-6 win.
In CUGÇÖs first ever MPSF win, a 12-6 victory over Fresno State on
Saturday, Moore recorded her third career hat trick and had a
team-high five ground balls and three draw controls.
Moore is the second lacrosse Buff to earn an MPSF player of the
week title. Johnna
Fusco earned the seasonGÇÖs first Rookie of the Week honor for
her performances against Stetson and Jacksonville.
Stanford took home the other weekly titles, with junior midfielder
Hannah Farr earning offensive and senior goalie Lyndsey Munoz
earning defensive honors.
