Tennis Signs Pair For 2014-15

BOULDER GÇô University of Colorado womenGÇÖs tennis head coach Nicole
Kenneally has announced that Tina Bokhua and Kyra Wojcik have each
signed a National Letter of Intent to play tennis with the
Buffaloes in 2014-2015. Both women signed during the NCAAGÇÖs regular
signing period.
Bokhua, who makes her home in Moscow, Russia, will major in
business. She is a member of the Russian junior national team and
has been ranked as high as ninth in her native Russia.
Bokhua's highest International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior
ranking is No. 295. She took third place in the Russian
championship (under 16 singles) in 2011 and was a runner up
finisher in the doubles under 18 in 2013.
She won the 2014 ITF junior tournament (grade 4) in Finland and
also the ITF grade 4 doubles in Belarus. Among her other runner up
finishes was the 2013 grade 4 tournament in Finland; grade 5 in
Russia in 2011 and 2012; and a 2012 doubles in Belarus (grade 5
ITF); and in Russia in 2011 and 2012 (grade 5 ITF).
"We are excited for Tina to join us in August," Kenneally said.
"With the strong results which Tina has showed, she will add to the
depth of our program, both in singles and doubles. It will also be
fun to have a lefty on the team again as our last lefty (Erin
Sanders) graduated in 2013. Tina is coming a long way from
home and was highly recruited. We are pleased to welcome her to the
Buff Family."
Wojcik, who resides in Goodyear, Ariz., will study biology in the
fall of 2014 at CU.
Wojcik, a five-star recruit by Tennisrecruiting.net, is ranked
among the top 50 in Florida (Girls 18s) and ranked as high as No. 4
in the southwest region (Girls 18s).
Ranked No. 135 nationally in the girls 18s, Wojcik won a pair of
national L4 tournaments in the southwest and made two quarterfinals
regional tournament appearances. She was a finalist of a 10,000 ITF
doubles tournament in Bogota, Colombia and has defeated several top
50 ITF ranked opponents.
Wojcik
is also ranked among the WTA (WomenGÇÖs Tennis Association) with a
singles ranking of No. 1044, and doubles of No. 854.

are really excited to have Kyra join our program and we cannot wait
to have her join us in August,GÇ¥ Kenneally said. GÇ£We see a lot of
upside to her game and believe she will fit right in with where we
continuing to take the program within the Pac-12 Conference. We see
her being a big contributor over the course of the next four years.
Kyra had opportunities at several great institutions and we are
humbled that she chose to compete and become a member of the Buff
