Manzi Tenorio & Steur Named To Pac-12 Academic Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. GÇô University of Colorado
student-athletes Carla Manzi Tenorio and
Julyette Steur have been named to the 2014 Pac-12
Conference Women's Tennis All-Academic second team, commissioner
Larry Scott announced Thursday.
To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum
3.0 overall grade-point-average and be a significant
contributor.
Both were named second team conference selections a year ago.
Manzi Tenorio will graduate in December 2014 and is majoring in
chemical engineering. With this honor, she has been recognized all
four years for her academic excellence during her time at CU. SheGÇÖs
a three-time Pac-12 Academic second team selection and was named
the team's Academic MVP (highest grade point average) her
freshman year in 2010-11.
During her freshman year, Manzi Tenorio was named an
Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete
(equivalent to being named an academic All-American).
Steur, a senior-to-be majoring in business, was recently named the
teamGÇÖs GPA winner this past season, earning a two-semester GPA of
3.91. ItGÇÖs the second straight year Steur was named the teamGÇÖs GPA
winner.
A three-year letterwinner, Steur was named the Mountain RegionGÇÖs
Player to Watch by the ITA. She is now a two-time Pac-12 Academic
second team selection.
