Kiernan Named To Inside Lacrosse All-Rookie Team

BOULDER GÇô University of Colorado freshman Darby Kiernan was been named to the Inside Lacrosse All-Rookie Team on Wednesday.
A standout in her first season of collegiate competition, Kiernan played in all 18 games, making 17 starts and became an offensive force, setting a single-season program record with 62 points and 52 goals. She also tallied 10 assists, four-game winners, a team-leading 37 ground balls and won 41 draw controls while forcing 17 turnovers, second most for the Buffs.
She was recognized for her impressive performance by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation on three different occasions throughout the year as well. The midfielder from Ridgewood, N.J. earned MPSF Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors during the regular season and then was named to the MPSF All-Tournament Team as she helped CU advance to the semifinals for a second consecutive year.
Kiernan was the only selection from the MPSF to the All-Rookie Team, comprised of 20 student-athletes from all four positions, which included eight attackers, seven midfielders, four defenders and one goalkeeper.
