GWANGJU, South Korea - University of Colorado sophomore Ana Holland placed 16th overall in the semifinals of the 200-meter dash on Friday at the World University Games.
 
Holland ran 24.29, .12 seconds faster than in the first round, which put her fourth in the third heat. The top two in each of the three heats automatically advanced to the finals, as well as the next two fastest times.
 
USA teammate Akeyla Mitchell won HollandGÇÖs section in 23.37 and went on to place second in the finals (22.95). KazakhstanGÇÖs Viktoriaya Kyabkina won the 200 finals in 22.77.
 
Holland is also scheduled to compete in the sprint relays, which start action on Saturday. The World University Games run through Sunday, July 12.
