Colorado is 2-0 for the first time since 2013 (last previous to then was 2008), and is 2-0 for the 56th time in its 127-year history (CU has not been 3-0 since 2008) … Ralphie V did not run before the second half due to a safety issue with a new harness … Colorado takes a 1-0 lead in the series, with no future games scheduled at this time …  CU snapped a 14-game losing streak when wearing black helmets (now 2-14 overall; other win was over Baylor in 1998) … Colorado improved to 5-2 against FCS opponents (four straight wins), while Idaho State has now lost 25 straight games against FBS opponents … CU played 71 of 86 players it dressed today …

Quarter/Half Scoring Records  … Colorado tied its school records for the most points in the second quarter (35; the record for most points in any quarter is 38), first half and either half (49); the 49-point halftime lead set a new mark, topping the 42-point edge CU had versus NE Louisiana on Sept. 16, 1995 (a 49-7 lead); and the 49-point win was CU’s largest since a 66-14 verdict over NE Louisiana on Sept. 16, 1995 … The last time CU won back-to-back games by 35-plus points was in 1994 when the Buffs opened with wins over NE Louisiana (48-13) and #10 Wisconsin (55-17) … Colorado has scored 100 points in its first two games, its most since 103, also in 1994.

Offense … Colorado has gained 500-plus yards in back-to-back games for the first time since Nov. 9-16, 2002 (575 at Missouri in a 42-35 OT win and 518 vs. Iowa State in a 41-27 win in Boulder); it marked the first time in back-to-back games to open a season since 1993 (when CU had 500+ in three straight versus Texas, Baylor and Stanford).

Defense … Colorado has allowed just 14 points in the first two games, its low since 1978, when the Buffs allowed 7 points in each of the first five games … CU has allowed just 124 passing yards in two games (opponents are averaging 1.78 yards per attempt and CU’s defensive pass efficiency rating is 55.3) … Colorado is now 46-1 in “Sub 100/100 games,” when holding the opponent under 100 in both rushing and passing, doing so for the first time since a 42-0 win over Miami-Ohio on Sept. 22, 2007 (44 rush/95 pass); the last time CU held a team under 100 yards was on Oct. 24 1992 (54-7 win over Kansas State, 16 total yards);  (full list on page 183 of the media guide).

INDIVIDUAL LINER NOTES

WR Kabion Ento (2-88, 2 TD).  He became the 14th known player in CU history to score on his first collegiate tough, with the 69-yards it covered the second-longest from scrimmage:

CB Tony Julmisse (3 UT, 1 INT). His third quarter interception extended CU’s nation-leading streak of consecutive games forcing a turnover to 15.  CU’s five turnovers gained in the first two games are tied for the second most in any first two games to start a season in the last 20 years (the Buffs had six in the first two games of both the 2005 and 2013 seasons).

ILB Drew Lewis (4,0—4 TT)  He led the team in tackles, and upon coaches review if he doesn’t pick up another or if no one else has five, it will mark the lowest number of tackles that has ever led the Buffaloes in a game (CB Lorenzo Sims had five, all solo, in a 44-10 win at Iowa State on Nov. 15, 2003).
