Colorado’s starters: Thomas Akyazili, Deleon Brown, Bryce Peters, Tory Miller, and Lucas Siewert. It was the first career start for Siewert and Peters, and first start of the season for Akyazili and Miller. Derrick White came off the bench for the first time in his collegiate career (UCCS & CU, 108th game.)

Colorado improves its record against Oregon State to 13-6 and have won 9-of-10 meetings in the Coors Events Center.

Today’s win snaps a seven game losing streak; Colorado is now 1-7 in conference play.

Colorado has scored 80 or more points in three straight conference games for the first time since the 2006 Big 12 schedule: 81-48 vs. Baylor (1/18), 80-78 OT at Oklahoma State (1/21), 81-59 vs. Nebraska (1/25).

Colorado hit a season-low 48.4 percent from the free throw line (15-of-31). It was the lowest percentage by the Buffaloes since hitting just 37.5 percent (9-of-24) at Arizona State on Jan. 25, 2014. It was the lowest in a Colorado win since a 46.7 percent performance (7-of-15) vs. Northern Arizona on Dec. 21, 2012.

Colorado 29-58 FG (50.0 percent) for the game, while shooting 12-for-22 (54.5 percent) from the three point line. It was Colorado’s second-best shooting percentage from 3-point range this season (61.9 vs. Sacramento State). The Buffs were 50 percent overall for the fourth time this season and first since hitting 54 percent at Air Force.

Colorado’s bench outscored Oregon State 52-4. Tonight’s game featured four ties and 12 lead changes.

Xavier Johnson (10 points, 1 assist, 4-of-7 FG) moved into 16th in career scoring now with 1,310 points. With today’s appearance he is now 19th on Colorado’s all time games played list with 116; tying Jason Obazuaye and Michel Morandais.

Dominique Collier (10 points, 3 steals, 2 assists, 2-of-5 FG) set a season high of three steals, which also ties a team season high (5th time); his previous best was 2 steals against Washington State. Scored in double-digits for the third time this season.

Thomas Akyazili (2 points, 6 assists, 1-of-4 FG) Akyazili tied a career high with six assists, matching his output against Sacramento State in the season opener. . 

George King (24 points, 8-of-15 FG, 4-of-8 3FG) set a season high of 24 points, hitting the 20-point mark for the first time this season and ninth in his career. His previous best was 18 points against Washington State. King matched a season high with four 3-pointers. He has made 15 of his last 26 from 3-point range (.577).

Lucas Siewert (3 points, 1-of-3 FG, 5 rebounds) Siewert recorded his first points in Pac-12 play with a three pointer early on in the first half. It was his first 3-pointer since the BYU game.
