Arizona improves its lead in the series to 15-12. The Wildcats have won 10 of 14 since Colorado joined the Pac-12 in 2011-12.
 
Colorado falls to 2-1 this season against ranked opponents though the Buffaloes have still won three of their last six against the nation’s Top 25.
 
Colorado won the battle of the boards 38-32. Arizona came into the game third in the Pac-12 in rebounding margin at plus-8.
 
Colorado’s 73 points are the most Arizona has given up this season.
 
Colorado drops to 0-3 in the Pac-12, losing its first three conference games for the first time since the 2008-09 Big 12 season. The Buffaloes played three straight on the road to begin a conference season for just the fourth time and first since 1931-32 (Rocky Mountain Conference).
 
Colorado trailed at the half for the ninth time this season, dropping to 3-6 in those contests.
 
The Buffaloes, hitting 10-of-14 from the line tonight, are shooting 80 percent from the free throw line in three conference games (36-of-45).
 
Runs: Colorado jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first 3:01 of the game. Arizona narrowed the gap to 13-10 before Colorado scored five straight for an 18-10 advantage…Colorado hit 6 of its first 8 shots (.750), but made just 4 of its next 21 to end the first half (.190)...Arizona went on a 29-9 run over a 13:18 span to take its largest first half lead at 39-24 before Xavier Johnson hit a 3-pointer to close out the first half…Arizona increased its advantage with a 10-2 run to open the second half and took its largest lead of the game at 59-39 at the 16:36 mark…From there, Colorado had an 8-0 run to knock it down to 12 (61-49) which began a larger 25-10 run that cut Arizona’s lead to 69-64 with 3:00 remaining…The Wildcats hit 9-of-10 free throws in the final 3:00, pushing the lead back up to 14 (82-68) before Colorado scored the final five point.
 
Xavier Johnson (26 points, 6 rebounds, 9-of-20 FG, 4-of-10 3FG) registered his 10th career game with 20-plus points; the third-best scoring performance of his career, just one off the 27 points he had against Wofford on Nov. 27. Johnson’s four 3-point field goals tied a career high while he set personal bests for both field goal attempts and 3-point attempts. His nine field goals matched his season high. Johnson surpassed both the 1,200 point and 600 rebound milestones, now ranking 21st in scoring at 1,225 points and 20th in rebounds at 605. He also moved into a tie with Mike Reid (1982-86) for 16th in career starts at 82.
 
Wesley Gordon (16 points, 9 rebounds, 6-of-8 FG, 1-1 3FG) scored a season-high 16 points and just one off his career best of 17 which came last year vs. Washington. He made his first 3-pointer of the season; 15th of his career. Gordon also had a season-high six field goals and has made 19-of-26 from the field the last five games (.731). He became the seventh player in team history to reach 800 career rebounds (807). Gordon moved into 16th in career minutes played with 3,027.
 
George King (12 points, 11 rebounds, 5-of-9 FG) registered his team-best fifth double-double of the season and the sixth of his career. It was his second in a Pac-12 game.
