Colorado-Drake Notes
Colorado moves to 4-0 for the first time since 2012-13 when the Buffaloes started 6-0. During that run Colorado claimed its last tournament championship, the 2012 Charleston Classic in South Carolina.
Colorado has won 25 of its last 30 against nonconference regular season opponents.
Colorado improves its series record over Drake to 4-1.
Good Night For Assists - Colorado had a season-high 15 assists. Coming off a total of seven in Friday’s win over Quinnipiac, the Buffaloes had seven on their first 10 baskets and totaled nine on 14 field goals in the first half. McKinley Wright IV, who ended with a career-best nine assists, had four in that opening first half stretch.
Good Night II – From The Paint – Colorado dominated the paint, outscoring the Bulldogs 50-26. The Buffaloes shot 71 percent inside the 3-point arc (27 of 38). Colorado made 10 of its first 11 2-point field goals, finishing the first half 12 of 17.
Overall the Buffaloes made 14 of their first 19 shots from the field but missed their final eight shots of the period, scoring only five free throws over the final 5:25.
Colorado shot a season-best 56.4 percent including 60.7 percent in the second half. The half mark was CU’s best since shooting 65 percent (15-23) against Wofford on Nov. 27, 2016. The overall percentage was CU’s best since shooting 56.5 percent against Stanford on March 2, 2017.
McKinley Wright IV (21 pts, 9-12 FG, 9 asst, 5 reb) matched his personal best scoring output from Friday’s game, and set a new career-best with nine field goals made. He recorded a career and team-season high in assists, and with just one turnover. His nine are the most since Derrick White had nine against Notre Dame on Nov. 21, 2016. Over the last three games he has shot 67.6 percent from the field (23 of 34)
Namon Wright (19 pts, 5-11 FG, 9-11 FT) recorded career highs in free throws made and attempted hitting 9 of 11.  Those numbers also better his top output in two seasons at Missouri where he had seven made and 10 attempted as his previous best. He’s averaging a team-best eight free throw attempts over the past three games.
Tory Miller-Stewart (11 pts, 5-6 FG) matched his season high in scoring (UNC).
Dominique Collier had a team season-high three steals and dished out a pair of assists. He moved into 31st in career assists at 182 and is currently 25th in steals at 85.
George King (14 points, 7 rebounds) moved into 38th in career scoring, now with 926 points, passing Mack Tuck (920 from 1993-96) and Jo Jo Hunter (922 from 1979-81).
