Colorado-California Notes

California improves to 15-13 in the series against Colorado and takes over a 6-5 edge since the Buffaloes joined the Pac-12. The Bears have won 12 of 13 all-time meetings in Berkeley.

Colorado’s 66 points was its lowest since scoring 60 at Utah in the Pac-12 opener. The Buffaloes shot just 36.8 percent, their third lowest total of the season and lowest since the Colorado State game (.322).

The Buffaloes were a perfect 13-of-13 from the free throw line in the second half and shot 82 percent for the game (18-of-22).

Colorado’s nine turnovers matched its second-lowest total of the season (Eastern Washington). The Buffaloes were coming off their highest turnover game of the season with 23 at Stanford.

Colorado used a 20-4 run during a 7:16 stretch straddling the first and second halves to knock a 23-point Cal lead to seven. Derrick White had 13 straight points in the middle of that run.

Derrick White (25 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists) recorded his ninth 20-point game of the season and fourth in his last six games. Also led the Buffaloes in scoring for the 12th time this season. He made three 3-pointers for the seventh time and had a season-high nine 3-point attempts. White was a 6-of-6 from the line marking the fifth time this year he’s been perfect from the line with six or more attempts. Recorded his ninth game with multiple blocked shots.

Tory Miller (10 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals) tied his season-high with 10 points, recording his third double-figure scoring game of the season. Established new season highs with nine rebounds and two steals. Scored 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in two games this week. Matched a personal best two assists for the second straight game. He has more assists in 22 games this year (11) than he did in 63 games his first two seasons (10).

Lucas Siewert (7 points) recorded his second start of the season. Scored a Pac-12 personal-best seven points which is also his second most as a collegian. Scored 18 points over the last four games (4.5 ppg).

Josh Fortune (5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) dished out a season-high five assists while his five rebounds are his most in a conference game this season. Needs 14 points for 1,000 in his collegiate career (including two years at Providence).

Seniors Xavier Johnson and Wesley Gordon missed the game due to a violation of team rules.
