Colorado-Washington Notes
Washington improves its lead in the series to 13-11 and takes a 6-5 lead since Colorado joined the Pac-12 in 2011-12. Washington won in Boulder for just the fourth time in 11 tries.
For the second straight game, five players have scored in double-figures for the Buffaloes (Tyler Bey (14), George King (13), McKinley Wright (10), Dominique Collier (10), Dallas Walton (13)). It was the first time in four games this season that the Buffaloes lost while having five players or more in double-digits.
Washington’s 50 rebounds are the most given up by Colorado since Stanford also had 50 on Feb. 23, 2012 at the Coors Events Center. The minus-16 rebound margin (50-34) is the most since the Buffaloes were minus-16 against Arizona (41-25) in the semifinals of the 2014 Pac-12 Tournament.
Colorado’s six turnovers are a season low and the fewest since having six vs. Stanford on March 2, 2017. It is the fewest in a loss since also having six vs. Baylor on Mar. 8, 2013. It’s the fewest in a loss at home since giving up just six vs. Stanford on Feb. 23, 2012 (the last time the Buffaloes also allowed 50 rebounds – see above).
Colorado’s seven blocked shots are a team season high.
George King (13 points, 5-of-13 FG, 6 rebounds) Is now number 21 on Colorado’s all-time rebound list with 595. He moves to a tie for number 19 for most game started with 78.
Tyler Bey (14 points, 5-of-9 FG, 11 rebounds) recorded his first career-double. Set a new career high with 11 rebounds and matched his personal best with 14 points (at Oregon State). Scored CU’s first five points of the game, which basically matched his season average (5.1 ppg) entering the game. He has seven blocks in the last four games. He set personal-highs in field goals attempted (9) and free throws attempted (7).
Dallas Walton (13 point, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks). His four blocks are a personal and team season high. He has a team-best 20 blocked shots on the season, 13 of which have come in the last eight games (1.6 bpg in Pac-12 play)
McKinley Wright IV (10 points, 5 assists, 2 steals) records his 12th game with at least five assists and now has 105 on the season. He is 38 shy of Chauncey Billups’ freshman record of 143 set in 1995-96. His 105 assists tie for 30th overall in a season in CU history.
Dominique Collier (10 points, 1 steal) became the 25th player in team history to reach 90 career steals. He has scored double-digits in each of the last four home games (12 ppg). He is shooting 64 percent from 3-point range during that same four-game stretch (9 of 14)
