Kristi Barrowclough
Kristi Barrowclough works as a Career Development Advisor for Career Services. In addition to meeting with students, she assists with career-related programming tied to industries in Communication, Media, Sports and Entertainment. Prior to working in Career Services, Kristi worked in the Leeds Career Development Office and prior to that as an Academic Advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences. Kristi completed her undergraduate degree at a small college in Illinois and completed her MA in Communication from CU Boulder.
David Burke
Senior Vice President and Chief Ticketing Officer
Burke joined KSE in 2013 and has been instrumental in enhancing the fan ticketing experience while also helping to bring the 2015 Major League Soccer All-Star Game to Colorado this summer and the 2016 NHL outdoor game against the rival Detroit Red Wings to Coors Field.
Burke is responsible for developing and implementing ticket sales and service strategies, and managing ticket operations, for all of KSE’s professional teams, including building and developing department staff and structure.
Prior to joining KSE, Burke was President of the Houston Aeros, the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, where he was in charge of day-to-day business operations. From 2007 to 2011, prior to working for the Aeros, Burke was Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service for the Phoenix Coyotes and Jobing.com Arena, where he managed all luxury suite sales, premium seat sales, and ticket sales and service for the Coyotes and their arena. He also served as Director of Season Ticket Sales for the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats, who ranked in the league’s top five in new season tickets sales in 2007.
Raised in Houston, TX and a graduate of the College of Charleston, Burke began his work in professional sports in 2003 with the Dallas Stars, later joining the New Orleans Hornets and helping the club through its temporary relocation to Oklahoma City after Hurricane Katrina.”
Ceal Barry
Senior Associate AD/Internal Operations/SWA
Ceal Barry is in her fifth year as the senior associate athletic director for internal operations at the University of Colorado, as she assumed that role under new athletic director Rick George in the spring of 2014. She is in her 12th year as the department’s senior women's administrator (commonly known as SWA).
Barry, CU’s legendary women's basketball coach, served as interim athletic director for a little over two months prior to George being named to the position, assuming that role on June 3, 2013.
In her 35th year overall at CU, Barry's duties included the oversight of men's and women's basketball, women's golf, soccer and volleyball. She also supervises several Student Services arms of the department including sports medicine, strength & conditioning, academics and student wellness.
Carol Callan
USA Basketball Women's National Team Director
After overseeing all facets of the historic 1995-96 USA Basketball Women's National Team that posted a perfect 52-0 record and assisting with the 1996 U.S. Olympic Women's Basketball Team that reclaimed the gold medal with an 8-0 record, Carol Callan assumed duties as Women's National Team Director (then referred to as Assistant Executive Director for Women's Programs) in October 1996. As Women's National Team Director, Callan is responsible for all USA Basketball women's team programs, including competitions, trials, training camps, and serves as a liaison to women's competition committees.
George Hoey
Career Services Assistant Director for Diversity
Born and raised in Gaffney, SC., the second of three sons to Lillie and Curtis Hoey. Attended Granard Elementary School and graduated Valedictorian of his class. At the age of 13 his family moved to Flint, MI. where he attended Lowell Junior High School and began to play organized sports (football and track). Next was Flint Central High School where he would captain and co-captain his track and football teams respectively, and earning All-State honors in both sports. As a B-average student in a college prep program, he would earn a full scholarship to play football for the University of Michigan under head coach Bump Elliott. Recruited as a running back, he would switch to defensive back entering his junior year where he would earn All-Big Ten and Little All-American honors. He would set punt return records, one of which still stands today-averaging 17.4 yards per return. As a sprinter in track, he would set the freshman 60 yard dash record of 6.1 and help carry his 4x100 relay team to then-school record of 40.6. Graduating in four years with a BS in Physical Education, with a teaching certificate and minors in Health and Hygiene and Psychology. He would later earn a MA in Guidance and Counseling from UM as well.
As a professional, his career began as he was drafted by the Detroit Lions as a defensive back/wide receiver/kick returner/punt returner. That would be the start of a six year career in the NFL. From Detroit, he would join the St. Louis Football Cardinals for one year; the New England Patriots for two years, San Diego Chargers for one year and in his last year, dividing time between the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets. Of note is his club record for kick-off returns with the Cardinals, 6 returns against the Philadelphia Eagles for 206 yards-one return for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Following professional football, he would begin a 17 year stint in higher education at the University of Michigan (Undergraduate Admissions Counselor (2), Athletics Academic Advisor (12) and Compliance Coordinator (3). He would later join the University of Colorado Boulder Athletics Department as Assistant Director for Academic Support Services where he served for 6 years. Currently working in Student Affairs (Career Services) where has been for the past 18 years.
He has served on athletically-related review committees with the NCAA, The Big Ten Conference with memberships at the national, conference and university levels.
Jake Jedamus-Denu
Jake started working at Career Services in the spring of 2014 and currently works as an employer development specialist in communication and creative industries, which includes communications, media, sports, and entertainment. The most exciting part of his job is getting to creatively connect students and employers who match each other's needs and to watch students land careers with exciting companies. Jake earned a bachelor’s in political science from CU-Boulder.
Dr. Nancy Lough
Professor & Coordinator Higher Education, University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Research Expertise: Gender equity, Title IX, organizational leadership, marketing research, advancing women in higher education and college sport leadership
Dr. Nancy Lough is a Professor in the Higher Education program and also serves as the Director of Marketing for the UNLV College of Education. Prior to UNLV, Dr. Lough served as a sport management faculty member at the University of New Mexico, Iowa State University and Kent State University. Dr. Lough has extensive experience in intercollegiate athletics including competing as a scholarship athlete and having worked as a collegiate coach in Texas and California, an Associate Athletic Director in Colorado, and Director of an NCAA National Championship. As an expert in the areas of organizational leadership, gender equity, marketing and corporate sponsorship, she has published widely in scholarly journals and has been quoted in media outlets such as the LA Times, Wall Street Journal, Street & Smith's Sports Business Journal, Canada's Globe & Mail, Houston Chronicle and the Toronto Star. Dr. Lough serves on the advisory board for the Penn State Center for Sport Business and Research, University of Colorado Business of Sport Certificate program, and the PGA Golf Management program at UNLV. In addition she has been an invited speaker and conducted leadership training for a variety of organizations. Her scholarly work has earned distinction with two publications featured in the Top 20 articles in the first 20 years of Sport Marketing Quarterly, in addition to selection as a Sport Marketing Association Research Fellow. Dr. Lough also served as the Editor for Sport Marketing Quarterly from 2010 to 2012, the President of the Sport Marketing Association (2013-2015) and recently published the Handbook of Sport Marketing Research with Dr. Bill Sutton.
Nicole Morris
Colorado Rockies
Nicole is in her third year working alongside the Colorado Rockies and was added to the Rockies digital staff in 2017 as an In-Game Coordinator working for MLBAM. She is responsible for promoting the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat platforms by informing, entertaining and engaging with fans through @Rockies social.
Previously to working for the Rockies, Nicole has worked for Kroenke Sports and Entertainment as a Media Relations Intern for the Colorado Avalanche and as a Community Relations Intern for all four professional sport teams at the Pepsi Center. She worked a season as a Sponsorship Intern with the Denver Broncos and EnerPlex in 2016 and was a Sponsorship Intern with CU Athletics and Bank of the West in 2016.
Nicole is a native to Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado in May 2016. She majored in Communication and completed the Business of Sport Certificate Program in June 2015. Nicole currently resides in Denver.
Travis Putnam
Group Sales Account Executive, Colorado Rapids
Travis Putnam graduated from CU-Boulder in 2013 with a B.A. in International Affairs and Spanish Language & Literature. He attended the B.o.S program the summer of 2013. Since then Travis has worked for CU Athletics, Octagon (sports marketing firm), and the Colorado Avalanche.
Currently he is a Group Sales account executive for the Colorado Rapids and is in his second season with the team. He focuses on selling and activating different types of events for companies, non-profits and other groups for match days.
