Colorado-Arizona Notes

Arizona improves its lead in the series over Colorado to 17-13 and has won eight of 10 all-time meetings in Tucson.

Colorado shot 55.8 percent for the contest marking just the third time in 61 games under Tad Boyle that the Buffaloes lost when shooting at least 50 percent from the field (58-3).

Colorado had its second-best performance from the field of the season (.564 vs Drake). It was Colorado’s best field goal percentage ever in a Pac-12 road game and best in any conference road game since shooting 61.7 percent at Texas A&M on Jan. 12, 2008.

Colorado’s 25 rebounds were a season-low and its fewest in a game since having 24 at Oregon on Feb. 18, 2017.

Colorado is shooting 50 percent (19 of 38) from 3-point range in its last two road games. Buffaloes were 8 of 16 against Arizona after going 11 of 22 at UCLA on Jan. 13.

Arizona made its first 20 free throws of the game before finishing 22 of 23 from the line.

George King (22 points, 6 rebounds, 9-12 FG, 4-5 3FG) has made 22 of 46 from 3-point range (.478) over the last five games. He reached 20 points for the fifth time this season and 15th time in his career. King became the 21st player in team history to reach 600 rebounds (601). He also leaped from 25th to 22nd in career scoring at 1,182. His nine overall field goals tied a season high (Air Force).

McKinley Wright IV (15 points, 7 assists, 6-9 FG, 2-2 3FG) recorded at least five assists for the 13th time this season and the 10th time in 11 games. He now has 112 on the season ranking 26th on CU’s all-time season list and remains the fourth most by a freshman in team history. Wright is now 31 away from Chauncey Billups’ freshman record of 143 set in 1995-96. Wright hit both 3-point attempts. He entered the game having made just 3 of 22 from deep in Pac-12 play.

Tyler Bey (11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block) new career high in steals with three. He has eight blocked shots in his last five games. Bey logged his fourth career double-figure scoring game and second straight. He has also pulled down at least seven rebounds in four of the last five contests. He’s shooting 60 percent the last three games (12 of 20).

Lazar Nikolic (4 points, 3 rebounds, 23 minutes) played his most minutes since also logging 23 at Oregon. He had only two points and two rebounds the previous three games combined.
