Colorado narrows Arizona’s lead in the series to 16-13, snapping a three-game skid against the Wildcats. Colorado improves to 9-4 against Arizona in Boulder.

Colorado claims wins over ranked teams in back-to-back outings (#4 Arizona State/#14 Arizona) for the first time since defeating #9 Missouri in Boulder and No. 21 Kansas State in Manhattan Jan 8 & 12, 2011. It’s the first time in program history Colorado has defeated AP Top 15 teams in back-to-back games.

Colorado improves to 2-1 against ranked teams this year. Colorado’s 17 wins over ranked teams in the Tad Boyle era are the most in team history. Boyle coached teams, with a record of 17-29, account for 28 percent of Colorado’s 61 wins over ranked team since 1949-50.

Colorado’s 45 points in the first half was a season high for the first 20 minutes. It was also the first halftime lead for the Buffaloes in the last five games. The 16-point margin (45-29) at halftime was Colorado’s biggest of the season. Colorado shot 64.3 percent in the first half (18-28) a season high

Arizona’s Allonzo Trier and Deandre Ayton  (averaging 40 points combined per game) were limited to eight points on a combined 3 of 8 from the field in the first half. Ayton scored 21 of his 26 points in the second half. Trier finished with eight points, 12 below his average.

Colorado held Arizona State and Arizona to a combined 36.9 percent shooting (55-149) after giving up 51.4 percent (54-105) in the games at Oregon State and Oregon.

Dallas Walton (15 points, 7-7 FG, 2 blocks) had season highs in both scoring and field goals made. His seven field goals without a miss are the most by a Colorado player in a game since Xavier Johnson was 7 for 7 vs. Oregon on March 7, 2013. Walton was just 3 of 12 from the field in his previous three Pac-12 games. Walton has five blocks the last two games.

McKinley Wright IV (16 points, 10 assists) recorded his third career double-double and second of the points-assists variety. It’s the 20th points-assist double-double in team history. He moved into eight at Colorado for assists in a freshman season with 84. Wright is averaging 7.5 assists over the last six games.

D’Shawn Schwartz (10 points, 2-3 3FG) first career double-digit scoring game. He had just 10 points in his previous seven games combined. First career game with multiple 3-pointers. He was just 1 of 8 from 3-point range the previous three games.

Namon Wright (14 points, 8 rebounds) Colorado personal high eight rebounds. Averaging 17.7 points and 6.0 rebounds the last three games.

George King (5 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists) nets his 11th career double-digit rebounding game – the first that didn’t result in a double-double. Matched his career-best with three assists.

Dominique Collier (14 points, 5-7 FG) becomes the 27th player at Colorado to reach 200 career assists (currently tied for 26th right at 200 with Antoine McGee, 2002-06). Now shooting 61 percent through four Pac-12 games (14-23)
