Colorado is 5-0 for the 25th time in its history, but for the first times since 1998 and 1994 … CU is 2-0 in Pac-12 play for the first time in eight years in the conference … Arizona State now leads the series by an 8-2 count (3-2 in Boulder) … CU is now 19-8 in games on Parent’s/Family Weekend dating back to 1992 … This was CU’s first game with the “white helmet/black jersey/black pant” look; it was the 11th time wearing the white helmets (record: 6-5) …  Arizona State’s TD on its first possession were the first points by a CU opponent on an opening drive this season; the plays (13), yards (86) and time (6:33) were all opponent highs for any possession, scoring or non-scoring in 2018 … This marked the second game at Folsom Field where the end zones were painted (497 games all-time; second game in a row) … Today’s temperature at kickoff was 50; it was 46 for UCLA, combined just six degrees more than the New Hampshire game (90) … ILB Nate Landman played 24 snaps before being ejected for targeting in the second quarter …  Not including ASU’s kneel-down prior to the end of the first half, the first nine possessions of the game drove into opponent (plus) territory; CU was stopped on its sixth drive, ASU’s on its fifth … Colorado had two more 80-plus yard TD drives today (seven on the year); the four today all were over 75 (75, 84, 75, 80) and totaled 314 yards (on 33 plays) The 20 combined possessions and eight in the first half were both season lows in a CU game (which had been set at 23 and 10 against UCLA) … Colorado has scored in 18 of 20 quarters this season, including 15 in a row until the scoreless fourth today… PK James Stefanou is now 59-of-59 for his career in PAT kicks.

Fourth Quarter.  Colorado sealed the game with a 13-play drive that ate up the final 7:10 of the game.  In the quarter, CU had advantages of 24-6 in plays, 97-3 in yards, 7-0 in first downs and 12:34-2:26 in possession time.

100/100.  Colorado is now 36-10 all-time with a 100-yard rusher and a 100-yard receiver (3-0 this season), with a 16 of those since CU joined the Pac-12 in 2011.

MacIntyre & Turnovers.  CU, now 30-38 overall under Mike MacIntyre, had its 16th turnover-free game under him and the third this year (11-5 in those games); that 23.5 percent rate is the best in CU history (next: 15.0 under Bill McCartney).  CU is now 55-24-4 in 83 games without a turnover since World War II.

INDIVIDUAL LINER NOTES

WR Laviska Shenault (13-127, 2 TD receiving; 5-13, 2 TD rushing; 140 total yards, 4 TD)
- This was his fourth 100-yard receiving game of the year; the only other two players in CU history to have four 100-yard games in the first five games in a season were Michael Westbrook in 1992 and Nelson Spruce in 2014.
- He has caught at least one TD pass in all five games this season (two today); that ties the second-longest streak of consecutive games with a TD reception in school history (the record is seven by Nelson Spruce over the 2013-14 seasons; next best was fiveby Rae Carruth in 1996).
- He is the first player in Colorado history to score multiple touchdowns rushing and receiving in the same game (the 15th four-plus TD game at CU); it was his first multiple receiving TD game of his career, and he is now the third player to have four or more of each in the same season:

Richard Johnson                              1982           6 rushing, 4 receiving
Mike Pritchard                                  1990           5 rushing, 6 receiving
Laviska Shenault                            2018           4 rushing, 6 receiving

- He now has 51 receptions for 708 yards (five games); he has one receiving TD in all four games, he’s the second Buff to open a season with at least one in the first five games (joining Nelson Spruce in 2014).

TB Travon McMillian (30-136 rushing)
- This was his fourth 100-yard game at CU (he had five at Virginia Tech); the last CU running back to have four 100-yard games in the first five of the season was Rashaan Salaam in 1994 (he would go on to have 10 in 11 games).
- He now has 84 carries for 528 yards on the season (4 TDs).

QB Steven Montez (33-24-0, 328, 2 TD, 176.2 rating; 3-17 rushing, 345 yards total offense)
- With 328 yards passing, he moved into sixth place on CU’s all-time passing yards list (5,412), passing Koy Detmer (5,390, 1992-96).
- With 345 yards of total offense, also moved sixth place on that all-time list (6,083), passing Darian Hagan (5,808, 1988-91); he is the sixth to reach 6,000.  It was his fourth 300-yad game this year, the 11th of his career (the CU record is 13 by Sefo Liufau, 2013-16).
- He completed 72.7 percent of his passes (24-of-33), and it actually lowered his season average by six points to 75.2 (115-of-153).
- He improved to 12-8 as CU’s starting QB (9-3 at home).
- This was his third game this year with a passer rating of over 170.

Offensive Line.  CU did not allow a quarterback sack for the second time this season, and the ASU defense had “just” five tackles for loss; the Sun Devils came in with 18 sacks (fifth in the NCAA) and averaging 8.2 TFLs (18th).
- Colorado ran 78 plays: 62 for positive yardage, eight for zero, and eight negative (the latter including three kneeldowns at the end of the game).

Oddity.  Just eight players touched the ball on offense for the Buffaloes: QB Steven Montez (36 plays), TB Travon McMillian (30), WR Laviska Shenault (18), WR K.D. Nixon (6), WR Tony Brown (4), TB Kyle Evans (3) and WR Jay MacIntyre (2) … and of course C Colby Pursell (78).  All but Evans and Pursell earned first downs.  And just nine did so for Arizona State, including their center (provided he played the entire game).
