USC-Arizona State Quotes
Arizona State Head Coach Courtney Martinez Connor
On Start Of Game/Proving Themselves
“I think that is one thing that we talked to our girls about. That we need to leave it all on the field because this is conference-play time and to sum it up briefly, you win you move on and if you lose you go home. How we want to end our season, win or loss, it needs to be a battle and I think that we were battling all over the field, definitely in that first half. Then in that second half, offensively we kind of faltered a little bit. That is going to happen with a young group but we have to learn from it then build upon it for next year. I am really proud of what the girls have done so far this season. No first year program plays as many ranked teams as we did. I think that it helped us for the future for sure.”
USC Head Coach Lindsey Munday
On overcoming Arizona State’s strong start
“I think that it is just a matter of getting back to the basics and recognizing how hard they are going to come out and play against us. We just started a little slow so we had to buckle in and play a little bit harder.”
On Sophia Donovan’s six goals
“She has been getting better and better throughout the year, I think that her confidence has grown the year. She has become more aggressive which is what we need, so she really stepped up today."
