Oregon State narrows Colorado’s lead in the series to 14-8. The Beavers pick up their second-ever win in Boulder (2-9).
Colorado drops its second-straight home game and falls to 7-2 at the CU Events Center. It’s Colorado’s first back-to-back losses at home since Jan. 12 & 15, 2017 vs. UCLA and USC.
Colorado suffers its first loss at home by two points or less since Jan. 18, 2016 (Utah).
Oregon State started the game 9 of 27 from the field and ended 18 of 29.
Colorado shot 50 percent for the game, the third time in the last six games shooting 50 percent or better. Colorado lost for just the fourth time in the last 68 games when shooting 50 percent or better (64-4 since 2010-11). Oregon State snapped an 11-game losing streak when being outshot by its opponent.
Colorado shot 59.3 percent in the first half (16-27), its best half in Pac-12 play this season and best since shooting 61.8 percent against Colorado State on Dec. Dec. 1 (21 of 34).
Colorado’s bench scored 27 points and hit 11 of 14 from the field.
This was Colorado’s second-straight loss when leading at halftime (9-2 this season leading at the half).
Evan Battey (16 points, 7-9 FG, 4 rebounds) scored a personal Pac-12 high 16 points, just two off his career-high of 18 at San Diego. Matched his personal best with seven field goals made which also came at San Diego. Recorded his fifth double-figure scoring game of the season.
Lucas Siewert (5 points, 8 rebounds) his eight rebounds matched his best in conference play. He also had eight in last season’s home loss to USC.
McKinley Wright IV (18 points, 6-7 FG, 4 assists) led Colorado in scoring for the sixth time this season. Scored in double figures for the 42nd time in 51 career games. He has made 12 of his last 19 from the field (.632). The 6 of 7 from the field is the best single-game percentage of his career (.857).
Shane Gatling (15 points, 4 assists, 3-7 3FG) registered double-figures in scoring for the fourth straight game and averaging 14.8 points over that span. Has double figures in five of his last six. Has hit multiple 3-pointers in four-straight and five of the last six games.
