Colorado is 5-0 for the second time in three seasons. It’s the 15th 5-0 start in program history and only the third in the last 30 years. The Buffaloes started 6-0 in both 2017-18 and 2012-13.

Colorado improves to 90-29 (.756) in nonconference regular season games under Tad Boyle, including a mark of 43-12 (.782) since the beginning of the 2014-15 season.

Colorado snaps a five-game losing streak against the ACC, winning its first game against the league since an 89-72 win at Wake Forest on Jan. 9, 1991. This was the first meeting with Clemson.

Colorado was 24 of 25 from the free throw line. The Buffs missed their first attempt but then made 24 straight to end the game; 11 of 11 in the second half. Colorado had entered the game shooting just 60 percent from the line (50-83). Tyler Bey missed the game’s first attempt, but rebounded to finish 9 of 10.

CU scored 13 straight points on free throws in the first half. The Buffs went 7:16 without a field goal during that span.

Clemson had the lead for 34:12 of the game. The Buffs had trailed for only 12:52 in the first four games combined. Colorado led for just 3:43 – all in the second half. The Buffs briefly took the lead for the first time with 7:57 left in the game on a McKinley Wright IV steal and dunk. Colorado took the lead for good with 3:31 left on a D’Shawn Schwartz 3-pointer.

Tyler Bey (18 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks) – Named MGM Main Event MVP averaging 18 points 14.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 blocks over the two games. Recorded his 23rd career double-double. He has double-doubles in four of five games and in 15 of his last 21 outings. He moved into 24th place in career re bounding at Colorado at 578.

McKinley Wright IV (10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists) – Scored in double figures for the 57th time in his career and dished out at least five assists in 43 outings. Increased his career scoring total to 971 points.
