Colorado-Dayton Notes
No. 13/12 Dayton is the highest ranked opponent CU has defeated away from Boulder since beating No. 6 Missouri at the 1990 Big Eight Tournament in Kansas City (March 9, 1990). The win snapped a four-game overall losing streak against ranked teams. It was the first ranked win away from Boulder since beating #22/21 Texas in Brooklyn Nov 22, 2016 (last game on an NBA floor).

Colorado’s 18 wins over ranked opponents in Boyle’s 10 seasons is by far the best in team history. Boyle coached teams, with a record of 18-32, have accounted for 29 percent of wins over ranked opponents (62) since 1949-50.

D’Shawn Schwartz (20 points, 7-11 FG, 5-7 3FG) caps off his second career 20-point game with the game winner on a 3-pointer at the buzzer in overtime. Tied his career-best with five 3-pointers, which came against the win over Dayton in last season’s NIT. After missing his first five shots against Prairie View A&M, he has made 11 of his last 15 field goals including 8 of 10 from 3-point range.

Colorado had two 2-point scorers in the same game for the first time since Tyler Bey (27) and Shane Gatling (25) did against UCLA on March 7, 2019.

Evan Battey (9 points, 12 rebounds, 5-6 FT) missed a double-double by one digit for the second-straight game. Led the Buffaloes in rebounding for the second straight game (10.5 rpg over the last two). His eight offensive rebounds are a career and team season high.

Tyler Bey (12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists) had the big assist on Schwartz’s game-winning basket, giving him 24 in 12 games, one more than his 36-game total of 23 from 2018-19. Had his third game of at least four steals this season.
