Colorado picks up its 17th overall win and eighth of the conference season, matching both marks from 2017-18 (17-15, 8-10). The Buffaloes improved to 11-2 at home.
 
Colorado improves its series lead over Utah to 28-23 and has won the last two at the CU Events Center over the Utes. Utah has still won eight of the last 10 overall.
 
Colorado’s nine turnovers was its fewest in Pac-12 play this season and matched an overall season-low (Colorado State).
 
Head coach Tad Boyle picked up his 183rd career win at Colorado, leaving him one shy of Ricardo Patton (1996-07) who is second with 184.
 
Colorado held Utah to 19 percent from 3-point range (5-26). The Utes entered the game shooting 39.6 percent during Pac-12 play, averaging 10.5 made per game. Utah made just one of its first 13 3-point attempts.
 
With the win Colorado improved its record to:
  • 13-3 when scoring at least 70 points
  • 10-2 when holding its opponent under 70 points
  • 2-6 when being outrebounded (34-33 Utes)
  • 15-2 when shooting 45 percent or better
  • 8-4 with more assists than turnovers (14a-9to)
  • 12-3 when four or more players score in double-figures
 
Tyler Bey (17 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 7-10 FG) recorded his third-straight double-double, fourth in five games, 12th of the season and 14th of his career. He has five-straight games with double-digit rebounds and 17 on the season. Bey’s 12 double-doubles are the second-most in the Pac-12 this season. Bey is averaging 16 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 62.7 percent (32-51) over the last five games. His three assists were a season high and tied his personal best. He had only 14 assists through the first 27 games.
 
With his 10 rebounds, he moved into a tie for 18th on CU’s single-season list with 265 (David Harrison, 2002-03). He also moved into the career Top 40, coming in at 39th all-time at 429.
 
Evan Battey (15 points, 6-9 FG) scored in double figures for the second time in three games and eighth overall. It was his eighth game with at least four field goals made an is shooting 62.5 percent in those outings (45-69). His 15 points were his second-most in the Pac-12 this season, one off his 16-point performance against Oregon State.
 
D’Shawn Schwartz (16 points, 6 rebounds, 5-10 FG) logged his second-straight game and 12th of the season scoring in double-figures. Shooting 53 percent the last two games (8-15). He tied a career-high with six free throw attempts.
 
Alexander Strating (3 points, 1-1 FG) has made his last six field goal attempts over a nine-game span and improved his season shooting number to 71 percent (12-17).
 
McKinley Wright IV (10 points, 3 assists, 2 steals) went over the 800-point mark for his career; now with 806 already resides in 54th place on CU’s all-time scoring list. It was the 48th time in 59 career games he has scored in double-figures. Tied a season high with two 3-point field goals, the seventh time he’s reached that mark and first since the win at UCLA.
