Colorado-Dayton Notes

Colorado improves to 22-12 overall and advances to the second round of the NIT. The Buffaloes will play the winner of Norfolk State and Alabama. Those two teams will meet on Wednesday at 5 p.m. MT in Tuscaloosa. Colorado has won 11 of its last 14 games.

Colorado’s 22 wins ties for the fourth most in one season in team history. The Buffaloes have 10 20-win seasons, six of which have come under head coach Tad Boyle.

Colorado improved to 12-9 in the NIT and wins its first game in this tournament since 2011 when the Buffaloes went 3-1 advancing to the semifinals in New York. The Buffaloes move to 23-26 in postseason games on the national level (NCAA, NIT, CBI). Colorado has won its last five postseason home games.

Colorado improves to 3-1 all-time against Dayton and has won both played in Boulder.

- 3-3 when the opponent shots over 50 percent

Colorado’s seven turnovers were a season low and the fewest since having seven against Arizona State in the first round of the 2018 Pac-12 Tournament.

D’Shawn Schwartz (19 points, 5 rebounds, 5-8 3FG) set a career-high with five 3-point field goals. Logged his second-best single-game point total, trailing only the 22 he had against Washington in January. He matched career-highs for field goals made and attempted and set a personal best with eight 3-point attempts. He is averaging 12.3 points over the last four games while hitting 48 percent from 3-point range (12-25).
 
Tyler Bey (14 points, 12 rebounds) took over the Pac-12 season lead with his 16th double-double of the season. He has had eight in the last 11 games. Bey had a double-double in the first half alone with 10 points and 11 rebounds at the break. He has moved into sixth place for rebounds in a season with 334 and into 30th place in career rebounds at 498.
 
McKinley Wright IV (19 points, 5 assists, 5-5 FT) led or tied for the scoring lead for a team-best 12th time this season. It was also his 52nd double-figure scoring effort in 65 career games. Wright has made his last 18 free throw attempts dating back to the USC game. His five assists moved him into seventh in a single season with 158.
