Colorado-USC Notes

Colorado improved to 19-11 overall and 10-8 in the Pac-12. The Buffaloes have double-digit conference wins for the fifth time in eight seasons of the Pac-12 era and the first since 2015-16.
 
Colorado has gone 8-2 since beginning the conference season at 2-6. The Buffaloes’ 8-2 run in the final 10 games of the regular season is tied for the program’s fourth-best run in the NCAA Tournament era (since 1938) and the best since 1961-62:

Colorado head coach Tad Boyle as moved into sole possession of second place on CU’s all-time wins list with 185. He passes Ricardo Patton who was 184-160 in 12 seasons from 1996-07. Boyle is 185-121 in his ninth season.
 
Colorado tied a season-low with just three 3-point field goals made
 
Colorado committed a season-low eight turnovers and has just 26 over the last three games (8.7 topg). The Buffaloes had a 2-to-1 turnover ratio this week against the LA schools (34-17)
 
Colorado started the game 8 of 26 from the field (.308) but made 20 of its last 31 (.645)
 
Colorado is plus-33 scoring in the second half of the last two games. In the second half, USC had 30 total points while the Buffaloes had 26 in the paint alone.
 
Colorado sweeps the season series from USC and improves its all-time lead over the Trojans to 11-7.
 
With the win Colorado’s record improves to:
- 3-8 when trailing at the half
- 17-2 when shooting better than 45 percent
- 15-3 when scoring at least 70 points
- 12-2 when holding the opponent under 70 points
- 17-3 when winning the rebound battle (40-31)
- 5-0 in the alternate “silver” uniforms
 
Tyler Bey (17 points, 11 rebounds, 7-13 FG) recorded his fifth-straight double-double, sixth in seven games and eighth in 10. It was his 14th of the season and 16th of his career. He has seven-straight games with double-digit rebounds and 19 on the season. Bey’s 14 double-doubles remains tied for the Pac-12 season lead at the end of the regular season (USC’s Nick Rakocevic had 17 points and 10 rebounds to join Bey)
 
Bey’s five-straight double-doubles are the most by a Colorado player since Shaun Vandiver had eight in a row during the 1990-91 season. Bey is averaging 17.7 points and 12.0 rebounds over the last seven games while shooting 62 percent (52-84).
 
Bey moved into 16th on Colorado’s season rebounding list at 289, passing Josh Scott who had 282 in 2015-16. He is 33rd in career rebounding with 452.
 
Evan Battey (21 points, 7 rebounds, 9-14 FG, 3 assists) recorded career-highs in points and field goals made and attempted. His six rebounds on the offensive end are the most by a Buff this season. He scored in double-figures for the ninth time this year and third in the last five games. He’s averaging 11.4 points while shooting 54 percent the last five games (.538).
 
McKinley Wright (17 points, 3 assists) scores in double figures for the 22nd time this season and 49th time in 61 career games. With 832 career points, he has moved into 50th on Colorado’s all-time scoring list.
 
D’Shawn Schwartz tied his career-high with four assists. He is shooting 50 percent over the last four games (17-34).
