Colorado-Utah Notes
Colorado improves to 13-3 overall, its best record after 16 games since the 2013-14 team started 14-2. The Buffaloes are 25-7 over their last 32 games.
Colorado’s 91 points against Utah are its most in a Pac-12 games since scoring 93 against UCLA on Mar. 7, 2019. The 39-point margin was the Buffaloes’ largest in a conference games since defeating Utah 73-33, on Dec. 31, 2011 – the first Pac-12 game for both programs.Â
Colorado had season-highs in field goals with 38 and field goal shooting at 59.4 percent.

The 38 field goals are the team’s most since having 40 in a double-overtime win against South Dakota State on Dec. 15, 2017. It was the most in regulation since hitting 38 vs. Gardner Webb on March 18, 2015. The 38 field goals are CU’s most in a conference game since hitting 41 in a 105-81 win over Iowa State on Jan. 5, 1991.

The 59.4 percentage is the best since CU shot 63.3 percent (31-49) against Northern Colorado on Dec. 13, 2014. It’s the best against a conference opponent since shooting 59.6 percent (28-47) against California in an 81-71 win in Boulder on Jan. 27, 2013.

Utah’s top three scorers, Timmy Allen, Both Gach and Rylan Jones were held to 20 combined points. The trio entered the game averaging 44.9 points per game between them. Allen, the Pac-12’s leading scorer at 21.1 points per game, was held to seven. All seven came in the first nine minutes of the contest.

McKinley Wright IV (16 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds) – Has 36 assists, over just seven turnovers (0 against Utah), over the last four games. He moved into a tie for fourth pace in career assists with Marcus Hall (2003-06, ’07-08) at 423. moved into 26th in career scoring (1,127) passing two notable Buffs. He passed current NBA standout Spencer Dinwiddie, who had 1,115 from 2011-14) and Burdette Haldorson, two-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist and member of the 1955 Final Four team, who had 1,125 from 1952-55. Tied a season-high with three 3-pointers, hitting all three attempts. Overall, he his shooting 64 percent over the last four games (23-36).

Evan Battey (17 points, 10 rebounds, 8-11 FG) – Recorded his third career double-double and second of the season. Season-high eight field goals, just one off his career high of nine against USC last season. Has double-digit rebounds in three of his last five games, averaging 7.8 over that span. Shooting 64 percent over the last four games (16-25).

Tyler Bey (11 points, 12 rebounds) – Recorded seventh double-double of the season and 26th of his career, moving into sole possession of 11th on CU’s career-list. He moved into 16th in career rebounds with 676, passing CU Athletic Hall of Famer Ken Charlton, who had 671 from 1960-63. Charlton was in attendance as the coach Sox Walseth era (1956-76) was honored this weekend.
