Colorado improved to 14-3 overall and 3-1 in the Pac-12. Both records are the team’s best since having the same start in 2013-14.
Colorado improves to 26-7 over its last 33 games
Colorado improves to 12-9 all-time against ASU and has won the last three. The win snaps a six-game losing streak in Tempe, improving to 2-8 all-time at ASU.
Arizona State had 17 offensive rebounds, but managed just eight points off those second chances. Colorado had half that total – eight offensive boards, but scored 10 points off those chances.
Colorado made just four of its first 22 field goals (.222) but rebounded to make 17 of 30 (.567) overall and 10 of its final 15 (.667).
ASU’s Remy Martin scored a game-high 25 points, the second most against the Buffs this season. Colorado has allowed five games of 23 or more points, but has won four of those.
Colorado lost the rebounding battle for just the fourth time this year (42-40), improving to 2-2 in those games.
Tyler Bey (19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists) – had a fantastic second half with 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in the final 20 minutes. Led Colorado in scoring for the fifth time this season. He moved into a tie with Scott Wedman (1971-74) for 13th place in career rebounds with 684. His five assists were one off his career high (6 vs Wyoming).
Evan Battey (5 points, 9 rebounds) led Colorado in rebounding for the fourth time in the last seven games. Had four on the offensive end, giving him 11 over the last two games. Overall he is averaging 8.0 rebounds over the last six contests.
Lucas Siewert (14 points, 4-6 3FG) hit his first three 3-pointers, scoring 11 of his 14 points in the first half. His fifth double-figure scoring game of the season. Had been 3 for 10 from 3-point range the previous three games. Hit a pair of free throws to remain perfect from the line on the season (18 of 18).
